- This is the second devlog for my indie game Ultimate Battle Arena. UBA is an online multiplayer, top down, twin stick shooter game meant for mobile. I'll talk about how networking works in multiplayer games, my struggles implementing networking, the glorious results after getting networking working, and then some stuff not related to networking. I added grenades and explosions with MaTh, and I made bots. I kinda went overboard with the bots, but I had fun with it and made some cool visualizations that you will hopefully find interesting. Threat detection, state machines, environmental query systems, it's all there. See you next time (if you subscribe)

Saw your comment on ThinMatrix's video and I came here to check out your work. Your game models look really nice and the game looks like it could be fun to play. I'm expecting you to make maps with a interesting layout on different environments maybe like one on a forest on the moon etc. Player models are really cool and you can expand adding several costumes for a better experience . The video overall was fun and enjoyable; in the mid part I think you could be a bit closer to the camera because it feels like you are keeping distance from the viewer like that. New sub here btw 🥳

Wowee! Really loved the AI system, never heard about EQS before! How well does it do performance wise on mobile?
It’s kind of a hassle to build for iOS so I haven’t tried it yet. I get about 400fps on my pc. I’m thinking about using more contextual steering later on so that I don’t rely so much on EQS though. Performance is definitely something to keep in mind.
