This was not a transformation. It was a trashing. If I were the estate agent trying to sell that house, I would be of the opinion that significant value was deducted from the property by what you did. You took a beautiful, planned, perennial, garden, and destroyed it. The house will not show as well. Anyone who wanted a garden would see a lot of work ahead. Mowing, weeding, trimming were needed, not wholesale attack with a weed trimmer and a brush cutter. You call yourself a gardener?
I hope someone who loves gardening buys the property and brings the garden back to life.

I have 150 roses bushes bought from last October & my garden is small & going upwards from the back patio door.. my roses are 2 in each big pots .. i dream of having bigger garden to down the roses in the ground with white statues & Japanese pagodas 🥹

Clearly a much loved garden. The jobs you did will make all the difference and encourage someone, hopefully. A garden like this seems overwhelming, with so much to sort out.

Love watching these garden make overs. I get upset when all the beautiful old plants are pulled out or cut down. It was somebodies pride and joy once.
It’s frustrating to say the least, I would have enjoyed taking the time to fully restore this place back into its former glory. Unfortunately the children of the former owners wanted this done asap to sell up and move on, and didn’t have the time and funds to do so. Hopefully the new potential buyers see the potential 🙏🏻
Maybe when the new owners see how the garden looks tidied up, they won’t rip it all out 😊
I am hoping that's the case, would be a shame to lose that garden.

The original owner passed away 2 years ago, the son asked if we could tidy up ready for sale.
Great job guys, it makes me sad to know that it is going to be ripped out . Why it a great established garden maybe change some but to rip it all out .sad
Thank you Alison. Unfortunately a lot of people don’t appreciate these type of gardens / yards. Most just want to modernise everything, which is a shame.
@thegardeneruk will never understand it .All my family plus children love gardening. You can have a mixture, but plants too me are the most important. Gardening in the future will be clean the decking, hose the shingle lol, and a plant dies. Oh, we'll just buy another instead of having pride. Youu grew it all .
