Just got a new fishing kayak thats 58 lbs. and for being 65 years old and after 7 hip surgeries, I have been scowering You Tube to find a way to make a kayak cart that will work for me. Yours is the simplest yet most effective DIY cart I have seen and requires no drilling or cutting into the kayak hull...Awesome idea and THANK YOU!!

That would work perfect for my sun dolphin. My best friend and I lift in and out of my truck. We aren't as young as we used to be ☺️. Now, come up with a winch or pulley system to pull it back up into the truck! 2 58 yr old women would be SO grateful!

Use a LOCK NUT not a lock washer. The washer uses the nut tighness to prevent it from coming undone.

You messed up oiling the cast iron caps before drilling them. As a retired pipe trades journeyman, I can tell you that during my apprenticeship, I was trained to never use oil when drilling through cast iron, or the bit will stop cutting and just spin. You are supposed to drill it dry.
