I have just switched to C1after being a LR user for 10+ years. The main thing I am missing is the option to merge HDR raw files, I know there are several HDR merge plugins available, but as far as I know, none of them let you save the merged image as a DNG or other RAW file format, losing the RAW benefits when bringing the merged image back into C1. I was wondering whether you have any thoughts on this and how you handle the lack of HDR merge in C1.
Enjoying your tutorials Scott, Im trying to change to C1 from LR finding the file management clumsy, could you do a tutorial on how to properly use the C 1 file management system, Thanks
I may just do that. I do recommend trying out the sessions. I really like them. I used Lightroom for years before moving to Capture One and have no problems with the filing for my uses.
@@ScottWilliamsPhotography Thanks Scott, I just watched your tutorial on Sessions, made a lot of sense, thanks. Not completely getting my head around the file structure and the tokens, I have been using it on and for a while, I have my file structure in a hell mess
I use lr for file management and capture one for raw edits. Trying to find seemless way between both programs. I import all to lr and have my Metadata presets automatically applied. Then go to co and create new session named the same as lr name (2020-05-19) example. In co I then go to the lr folder of pictures. Do all my ratings and edits. I never move any pics to selects folder. If I process any for export, it goes to output folder. Then back to lr, go to the folder I just worked on and sync. That will add the co folders and ratings. And I will now see the co output folder as well. Is there a better way to do all this?
Very nice, thank you
Thank you very much.
helps a lot to see the advantages of layers

I use affinity photo to create HDR images from multiple files. It creates 32 bit HDR images which you can save as a 32 bit HDR if you like.

Hi Barry, do you know the difference between Sessions and Catalogues in Capture 1?
