Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! 🤓
Haha thanks! 🙏
Wow ..nice review nick..now thats one hell of an SUV..😊fabulous car..gazz
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! 🙏
Nice plates, Nick!!
Haha thanks! 🙏
And I'm looking for the affiliate link in the video description again... 😉 - Great video about a great car. With an excellent license plate. - Maybe the right car for the next road tour through England!? - Thanks Nick and keep it up! 👍🏼 😃
Haha that would be awesome if car manufacturers had one of those! I’d be able to see how many people bought a car
Haha thanks! Maybe! 😊
Merc needs to pay you LOADS, Nick you always do a fine job.
😊 Awh thank you! Glad you enjoy the video!
Thankyou 👍👍👍👍❤️
Wooooow this stunning machine
Great Review thanks much appreciated. However any chance on the GLC43 4 pot need a review before purchasing
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll add it to the list! 🤓 just depends if I can get my hands on one
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Perfect One Nick :)
Thanks for watching! 🙏
Great review, great car. I still think M-B should give you one! You do more to promote their brand than they do.👍
Awh thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Haha that would be cool! 👌🏼 Not sure they’d just give out a car though! 😅
@@npolearyI think you’ll find Petrol Ped gets a Hendy Group “six month freebie”
It might have a more correct term, maybe long term benefactor… But the opportunities are there. If you’re comfortable in not being beholden then that’s a good thing. You’ve more than earned an excellent label of impartiality 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I’ve owned 10+ new M-B’s over the years. As a long time loyal owner, I’ll ask them. I’ll let them know you do more to promote their brand than they do!
Haha yeah I caught up with him at Goodwood festival a couple of days ago. Suited and booted ready for a hill climb in racing gear 😜 he’s featured in couple of my videos 🤫 and I’ve been in his!
Yeah I mean I would love that, it would be so easy to produce videos and tutorials! I have however got something arriving tomorrow Mercedes related which will be for a review and tutorials….only got it for the week though.
@@npoleary Nick, I emailed Willem Spelten, Director of Corporate Communications M-B HQ and Rob Halloway, Director Communications M-B Cars & Vans M-B HQ to advise them of your educational videos and brand advocacy for their products. I recommended they provide you with their latest vehicles and technologies directly, so you are always up to date on their latest offerings. Let's see what happens? Cheers!
Hi Nick …. Another great review but the price £122 Grand 😮some tone off the AMG . I used to get the same pops and crackles when I had my AMG CLA 35
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Ooo yeah I’d love a CLA 35 😎
WOW, that is some car. I do love the Coupe version better, but that amount of power... So far, my favorite review of yours.
Awh thanks! Yeah I really enjoyed making this one! 😊
It is a 2.0L but it delivers on almost every element! I know V8 lovers may miss the sound of the actual engine but for a 2.0L it’s incredible
I didn’t know if you were kidding, but I forgot to mention the holes in the seat, or for a racing harness. Like the Crossbody seatbelt.
Ah that makes sense, honestly not been in a car that has racing harnesses. Thankfully it’s got the normal ones! 😅
love this car and love the review you had! will you able to have the glc43 to do a comparison of them? as a glc300 2024 version owner feel the power still not enough sometimes. thinking to have a 43 after 3 years lease of my 300, and do you have any idea of the ground clearance, how much lower compare to the 300? if could have you answer would be awesome ;) Thanks!
Ah I love comparison videos! They require a lot of planning though! I’ll have to ask my local dealer somewhen in the future, it depends if they have one in to do a comparison.
I don’t think it’s majorly different, they have a load of dimensions etc on page 91:

@@npoleary Thanks Nick ;) this is great info. really wish you could find the chance to make the comparison review, i believe it would be really helpful and interesting. in the California, my glc300 window sticker price with options already $63000, and the MB us just start delivering the glc43, I checked the inventory, seems adding another $6000, i could have a 43 with almost similar options add on. but i could have more than 100hp power and all real AMG design and engineer, i think the 2.0 engine is m139 which is different from the 300. and also i could have the rear wheel steering on the 43 which 300 does not offer at all. so that is why i really wish to see how much difference the driving dynamic and feeling difference between the 300 VS 43 VS 63. it is hard for me to ask the dealer to test driving and feeling the 43 for myself, they wish to keep the car with no milage put on ;) i feel it would be a very interesting video topic to see the 43 value, only seeing the number on paper, i feel the 43 would be a very nice deal for a real AMG, of course, people will say, 43 never could call as real AMG, but compare my current 300 with amg style package, i would say it is a real daily drive AMG. the weight is much lighter than the 63 without the heavy battery, but similar m139 motor under the hood. that is all my guessing, really wish to see some review could tell some actual feeling when driving them side by side.
That’s alright, ah just bear in mind specs vary so you might need to find the equivalent in the USA 🇺🇸
But yeah I’ll add it to the list, can’t guarantee I can do it but I’ll keep an eye out!
Nice touch with the personalize license plates.... 😃
Haha thanks! 🙏
I might feature them a bit more 😜
Nice video. Consumption wise, is there a significant difference between Sports mode, Comfort mode and Econ mode?
Thank you! Yes there would a little 🤏
The throttle response is very responsive in Sport+ so naturally it’ll want to drive faster. But if you drove at similar speeds the consumption would be similar, the only difference is that the Revs would be higher so you naturally would use more fuel that way anyway.
Thanks!
@williamlim8866 no worries! 🤓
The real question is "Is it a 63S." Performance-wise, yes, it is. Sound-wise, no it's not. Now, those who would argue that it's not a 63S need to realize that the latest 63S models were 4.0L engines, so if displacement makes the model, than the answer would be no for all those 63S models.
While I will absolutely miss the sound of the V8s, I'm not a kid, so it's more about the performance. And this one has it!
Thanks Nick as always for a great review.
So I’m still awaiting the CLE 53 😂. Mixed feelings on this engine. I don’t think they sound as deep throated and I’m guessing there is a lot more noise being piped through the speakers? Really like the design of the exterior and the interior. However my biggest pet hate is the shiny black piano black, used on the centre console on a premium vehicle. Surely an extension of the carbon fibre effect would have been a better solution and look less scratched.
Piano black is one of three options. I have it in my GLB and have a dust cloth in the glove box. Through near daily dusting, it remains clean.
@@jesseturner9865 sounds like you would be the perfect person to purchase from when you sell. I had a C Class for three years and despite attempting to avoid scratches, I still had a few which really hurt. I went for Ash on my replacement C43.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
I may…have a video coming soon on that! Just got piles of videos to edit currently! I need an editor 😂
Yeah shiny piano black isn’t the best, but as long as nothing hard touches it, then it should remain shiny and clean. I have a microfibre cloth too to keep it clean.
@@npoleary microfibre all the way. We replace ours once a month.
Hi Nick. Having just bought my first Mercedes. (C300 estate Premium plus AMG line). I’ve found your videos extremely helpful. I was wondering if you could do a video covering the “Covid cars”. These are a batch of cars that apparently left the factory with various specification anomalies due to the global chip shortage. I’m starting to think my car may be affected.
Ah very nice! Haha “Covid cars” I’ve not heard that term before although I understand what you mean.
Sadly it’s not just cars that were affected it was virtually everything on the planet. The reason why cars had a larger impact is because modern cars have a lot of semiconductors (a modern car typically has over 3k of these and microcontrollers. I believe they’re referred to as a 200mm wafer or something similar).
Basically TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) lost a lot of orders during the pandemic for car semiconductors so they slowed down production. Where as home computing was on the rise with social distancing and working from home. And then suddenly as auto makers ramped up their sales, they put in an order for semiconductors but it takes months to ramp back up and they couldn’t keep up with demand.
To get cars out of the door, car manufacturers had to adjust their specification to still “sell a car” but without affecting the consumer in any “major” way. In the UK, Audi for example didn’t have sunroofs for a while, Mercedes dropped Augmented Reality and the electronic tailgate for some models and I’m sure there were other elements too such as wireless charging for phones.
Sadly I don’t know the ins and outs of it as I think it probably varied round the world but the best thing to do is chat to someone who works at Mercedes and they’ll be able to advise from their experience what cars may have been affected. They can bring up the specification of cars and handily if it helps I do have archived brochures of Mercedes models from around the time so if you need it, reply below and I’ll send you the link 😎
Hi Nick. Thanks for your reply. That all makes sense Regards Louise
Nick, how, long does the battery actually last in maximum attack mode?
No sadly not, the reason why is because it’ll recuperate a lot of power very quickly not when braking (even more then EV’s and plug-in hybrids).
You can actually watch the battery go up in a hot lap in certain sections of braking.
Holly s....in Cyprus starting price is €115.00 for glc63s (and only by order 😮 glc43 starting at €87k .
I just worry about stress on a tiny engine like that. A V8 or even a V6 could make that amount of power with a lot less stress on the components I would think.
Have you seen the Mercedes-AMG A45 S? 421hp from that one! 😜
They’ve been going strong for years!
@@npolearyyes but it’s not pulling the weight of a GLC
@@npolearyAMG GLA45 ownership for coming up to five years - faultless. Thank you Peter Schindler (that’s the builder’s name!) for the perfect engine.
The blunt truth is in real world usage you might hit the redline in one gear maybe once a month or so. I’ve never tracked the car, but I have made pace across country and it needs nowhere near redline to be well beyond my abilities or my lack of enthusiasm for being locked up for speeding.
So the lack of stress is inherent in the planned usage. Remember that £130k will be bought by a wealthy individual (most likely a parent) whose life will be more about show than go. That GLC can do it all.
Even if your track dayed it once a month then with regular servicing it’s going to reward you with reassuringly expensive tyre changes and possible brake pad changes. Other than that it will pootle on into obscurity until it gets to 10 years old where it will be bought and ragged by the now elderly Max Power masses…..
Great review Nick 👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed the video! 🙏
Oh wow GLA 45 for 5 years, I’d still love to get an AMG one day
When and what model they discontinued the AMG 65?
I driven an S 65 before, it was very fast! Sounded very unique when turning it on!
I’ve only seen or heard of Mercedes making a couple of 65 engines for the UK. Not sure they offer anymore here now
Final edition s65 L w222 (70 plate)
I believe the "63" is well overstated. Isn't the engine the same as in the A45? I guess MB are using the electric engine to boost it to 63 standards but if the battery isn't charged then you have a "45"
Just my thoughts but I think the current petrol MB SUVs look fairly ugly and the panel gaps are too large for the asking price.
I'm not sure you've convinced me to relinquish my BiTurbo V8, but ... interesting.
Thanks for watching! 🤓
AMG 43
AMG 53
AMG 63
LOVE ALL AMG 63!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Haha yeah defo! They’re all awesome!
I just can't imagine an AMG without the real AMG sound i know, i just can't. Am sorry.
Not only did they go with a 4 cyl.. but they had to make it sound fake on top of that lol....
First thing I would have to do is to turn that off... sounds like a bad computer game.
GLC AMG or X3 M50? 🤔
Sadly not driven the X3 but I hope to in the future! Then I’ll be able to make that comparison!
It's too bad it's not v8
But, it is still fun car.
As Long as people wants to be fooled, the will buy that. C63 is a C20! How long do you think will the Engine last? When the electronics gimics are not will do the duty its over!
It's nice, it's fast but it's not AMG. People who own the old one are never going to get this one. Bring back v8
It’s a tricky thing that manufacturers need to do, they are required to sell a certain percentage of electric cars each year and also lower the cars with the highest engine displacements. So naturally with rules and regulations, engines will get smaller and smaller over time and hybridised and eventually electric.
I was very lucky to be on a round table chat with someone high up from AMG two days ago. They are working hard to prioritise AMG & emotion and feeling over anything else.
So the only thing I can suggest, yes I try and capture what it’s like on here with video and audio with mics placed in places to capture the sound but it may not translate to what it would be like completely. Try it out and see how you get on 😎
Sounds like 💩
