The real question is "Is it a 63S." Performance-wise, yes, it is. Sound-wise, no it's not. Now, those who would argue that it's not a 63S need to realize that the latest 63S models were 4.0L engines, so if displacement makes the model, than the answer would be no for all those 63S models. While I will absolutely miss the sound of the V8s, I'm not a kid, so it's more about the performance. And this one has it!
Oh please, will you idiots stop cheerleading for this bs. It's a "soul-less" four-banger that has has quite literally destroyed what it means to have an AMG. Hi Nick. Having just bought my first Mercedes. (C300 estate Premium plus AMG line). I’ve found your videos extremely helpful. I was wondering if you could do a video covering the “Covid cars”. These are a batch of cars that apparently left the factory with various specification anomalies due to the global chip shortage. I’m starting to think my car may be affected.
Ah very nice! Haha “Covid cars” I’ve not heard that term before although I understand what you mean. Sadly it’s not just cars that were affected it was virtually everything on the planet. The reason why cars had a larger impact is because modern cars have a lot of semiconductors (a modern car typically has over 3k of these and microcontrollers. I believe they’re referred to as a 200mm wafer or something similar). Basically TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) lost a lot of orders during the pandemic for car semiconductors so they slowed down production. Where as home computing was on the rise with social distancing and working from home. And then suddenly as auto makers ramped up their sales, they put in an order for semiconductors but it takes months to ramp back up and they couldn’t keep up with demand. To get cars out of the door, car manufacturers had to adjust their specification to still “sell a car” but without affecting the consumer in any “major” way. In the UK, Audi for example didn’t have sunroofs for a while, Mercedes dropped Augmented Reality and the electronic tailgate for some models and I’m sure there were other elements too such as wireless charging for phones. Sadly I don’t know the ins and outs of it as I think it probably varied round the world but the best thing to do is chat to someone who works at Mercedes and they’ll be able to advise from their experience what cars may have been affected. They can bring up the specification of cars and handily if it helps I do have archived brochures of Mercedes models from around the time so if you need it, reply below and I’ll send you the link 😎

As Long as people wants to be fooled, the will buy that. C63 is a C20! How long do you think will the Engine last? When the electronics gimics are not will do the duty its over!
It’s a tricky thing that manufacturers need to do, they are required to sell a certain percentage of electric cars each year and also lower the cars with the highest engine displacements. So naturally with rules and regulations, engines will get smaller and smaller over time and hybridised and eventually electric. I was very lucky to be on a round table chat with someone high up from AMG two days ago. They are working hard to prioritise AMG & emotion and feeling over anything else. So the only thing I can suggest, yes I try and capture what it’s like on here with video and audio with mics placed in places to capture the sound but it may not translate to what it would be like completely.
