I’m losing my hair fast due to taking chemo drugs, and have been told I will have to take this drug for ever, so I will lose my hair permanently. I have scarves and hats but nothing is like my beautiful hair. Visiting a friend recently, her 7 year old grandson gently asked me what it is like to wear a chemo scarf, and did I mind talking about losing my hair. Then he asked if people stared at me, saying he thought that most adults were very rude to stare. He complimented me and said he thought I looked lovely, and although different, looked very stylish! Bless him, he’s got more soul in his little finger than anyone else I know.

I had cancer as well and my hair is thin like hers and missing in the middle so I can't wear my hair down. I'm on disability and broke so something like this would be difficult to financially upkeep. I'm glad she was able to do that.

Its not exactly the same but 2 months after i had glandular fever i lost half my hair and it went so thin i was devastated. My pony tail was half as thick as it used to be. It came back somewhat but was never the same. It happened again about a year ago after a traumatic ordeal which i am still going through. Hair loss is anyone particularly women can cause self esteem issues and yes no one knows what its like unless you have been there. I know my hair will never be the same as it was but its slowly improving bit by bit. I am so happy for Caroline that she was able to get help. She looks great and the hair looks so natural and real.

For us to be able to help cosmetically disguise hair loss caused by alopecia areata, it's important the condition has stabilised - in other words, the hair is no longer falling out. This is because extensions are attached to the existing hair and if this isn't stable, our work will simply "fall out" when the client's hair falls out. Yes, whilst it's semi-permanent, it can come off at any time and because there are no glues etc used in attachment, it's straightforward for us to do. There's also no damage caused to your own hair when it's removed. With regular maintenance, it typically lasts between 2 to 3 years before needing full replacement, although some of our clients have kept the same system for much longer. Generally, replacement is down to personal preference rather than actual need - it's a very robust solution.
Does it hurt? I tried an semi-permanent solution once where they used thread to attach the topper to my hair and I had to remove it in a few hours because it hurt my scalp so much.

Yes, it does last that long - in fact for some clients, they've had a system for more than 5 years before full replacement. However, bear in mind that the hair is maintained at 6 weekly intervals, mainly to re-anchor the system to the root of the hair to compensate for natural hair growth (the system grows away from the scalp as it's attached to the existing growing hair). At these appointments, we often replenish some of the hair where necessary... (more to follow)

No, it can't fall off or come off like a wig. It's attached to existing hair as you can see in the video and is, therefore, "semi-permanent". What we mean by "it can come off at any time" is that it can be removed by us at any time, leaving your existing hair in the same condition it was before application. So, if you change your mind or want to try another solution down the line, it's a simple process for us to remove the system.

To answer your questions - the initial application can last 2 to 3 years, sometimes longer, before it needs replacing. Maintenance involves a 6-weekly visit back to our studio to re-adjust the mesh closer back to the scalp (this is because it gradually grows away from the head with the client's re-growth). This is also an opportunity to refresh, pull through any regrowth, re-style if necessary etc - kind of like the sort of thing you'd do if you were visiting a stylist for a normal regular appointment. I shaved my head bald september 29 of 2022 due to trich and i have a lot of videos of my journey on my channel. it was the best decision ever, i'm so glad i did it. it felt so liberating and empowering, truly life changing 😍 plus, wigs are great you can switch up your looks so easily without damaging your hair. I don’t plan on dying my hair and keeping it virgin all the way.
Not with our technique. During the six-weekly maintenance visits, in most cases any new hair growth is carefully "pulled through" the mesh using something that looks a bit like a crochet needle. It's really important that this is done, otherwise, as you point out, the mesh would not only raise up but there is also the potential for matting of the new hair, increased itchiness, potential scalp issues etc. This means that many of our clients go for several years without having the whole thing replaced.
I might be wrong but I imagine it would very expensive to get this done. Unless I win the lottery I will need to save for a wig. It does look fantastic though, the lady looked lovely before and fabulous after.

I have the exact same issues. I wish I could have this done too.... would love to swim with my children. Right now I cannot get it wet, or be in the sun too long or it gets ruined. Now I cannot even run my fingers back in my hair. I am wearing a topper with a clip in bang, and fall on top to fill out. So much...i just want a normal look where I can pull my hair back and not worry...

I shaved my head bald september 29 of 2022 due to trich and i have a lot of videos of my journey on my channel. it was the best decision ever, i'm so glad i did it. it felt so liberating and empowering, truly life changing 😍 plus, wigs are great you can switch up your looks so easily without damaging your hair. I don’t plan on dying my hair and keeping it virgin all the way.
I read that when your hair grows a little underneath, the mesh raises and you have to start all over.
Not with our technique. During the six-weekly maintenance visits, in most cases any new hair growth is carefully "pulled through" the mesh using something that looks a bit like a crochet needle. It's really important that this is done, otherwise, as you point out, the mesh would not only raise up but there is also the potential for matting of the new hair, increased itchiness, potential scalp issues etc. This means that many of our clients go for several years without having the whole thing replaced.
I might be wrong but I imagine it would very expensive to get this done. Unless I win the lottery I will need to save for a wig. It does look fantastic though, the lady looked lovely before and fabulous after.

I have the exact same issues. I wish I could have this done too.... would love to swim with my children. Right now I cannot get it wet, or be in the sun too long or it gets ruined. Now I cannot even run my fingers back in my hair. I am wearing a topper with a clip in bang, and fall on top to fill out. So much...i just want a normal look where I can pull my hair back and not worry...
