Yes it is designed like this. It’s designed so that you won’t burn your fuel pump, it tells you you’re empty when you still have a couple gallons left

Most cars are like this. Once you hit e there's still like 3 gallons left.
Mine in the middle shows 0 fuel gauge stays on letter E but I just put $60. Can I still drive? Thank you
