Personally I don’t like broccoli cheddar but I know it’s like the most popular in most restaurants. I honestly don’t know why. Maybe a home made broccoli cheddar would taste better, but restaurants serve it like a cheese soup with broccoli shavings 🤢

I felt that and laughed so hard, here in rural Pennsylvania, we recently got the first drive through aside McDonald's just last year

Exactly! I get it all the time from Panera and it always has the crouton and a huge thing of cheese on it.
The French Onion soup is my favorite there, but all of the Panera restaurants around me are stingy with the cheese. I always have to ask for extra cheese. Then when they still put a tiny amount on it, I give them the “Really?!?” look. Only then do I get a decent amount added on.
Agreed that location messed up, the one where I grew up had pretty good soup and sandwiches, also yes the French onion was loaded with cheese it was one of my favorites.

As a former Panera employee, I'm shocked by the lack of the top two most popular soups not even being here...the broccoli cheddar and the chicken noodle.
I work at a panera, who ever made that onion soup didn't put anything truly in it plus where is the croutons. And the southwest aint the best I got to say chicken wild rice and the broccoli cheddar is the best soups from panera
I worked for Panera as well. We legit just forgot the croutons at times and I bet this occurred here.

That's what I was thinking! Every time I've gotten the onion soup to go it always came with cheese and croutons on the side so you could apply them later when you got home. French onion bread bowl is by far my favorite fast food soup lol

Lived in the Midwest my whole life and Steak and Shake has always been a staple here. Their steak burger, fries, and a cup of chili is fast food perfection. Oh and their shakes are pretty incredible too 🙂
Used to be...they don't seem to be the same anymore, and many closing it seems around my area

growing up we went on a lot of family road trips therefore had many many steak and shake stops in my day. i didn’t like burgers so i ALWAYS ordered their chili. it was something i’d really look forward to and still i think the best chili i’ve gotten at a restaurant. so glad it’s getting it’s recognition!! finally !!

Chili is most definitely not a soup, therefore should be disqualified. It’s really a stew because it doesn’t have a broth, water, or stock as the base. This is widely agreed upon in the culinary community because google says so

A Little confused why Panera Bread's french onion soup had no cheese. Whenever I order it, there is literally a layer of cheese in my bowl.

It might’ve been a mistake and they still eliminated it...
I think when it was transferred to the the bowls the cheese might have like designated 😂😂
The answer is that when you get the soup takeout, the cheese sinks. They should scrape the bottom of the container when transferring to the bowl and they’ll get it
