For barbecue specifically, instead of frozen and fast, we needed "smoker attached to a truck in the parking lot of the local grocery" and "gas station that serves food". They'd win every time.

I can get a pound of burnt ends here in KC for around 12 bucks. I can get a pound of brisket for 15 to 20 bucks. I guess that is one of the perks about living in Cowtown USA.
For real. Here in Oklahoma, the average price for a decent hunk of beef from the grocery store is anywhere from $7 (on special) to upwards of $15-25. So if I had to guesstimate a price/lb, I'd probably say around $8-10/lb. Coming from a northern OK boy.
It was great to see the St Louis style ribs win, it’s the only way to eat ribs imo. If anyone ever finds themselves in the STL area do yourself a favor and make a stop at Pappys, their ribs are so dang good!
Pappys is by far the best BBQ I have ever had, I always tell people that and the one time i went to pappy I left smelling like I was standing next to the smoker lol, loved every bit of it

Pulled pork is not served with sauce unless you are from the mid west and up. Sauce on the side.
