LAW IS A NORMATIVE SCIENCE: Acc to kelson law is a normative science but law norms may be distinguished from science norms. Kelson dpes not approve of the command theory of Austin as it give a psychological element into the defintioj of law 2). Seperation of law from other social sciences and morals 3). GRUNDNORMS: kelsom theory is based on a pyrimidical structire where norms derive their validity from a basic norm called Grundnorm. No can queation the validity of Grundnorm. Constituion( Grundnorms)- Crpc, CPC, IPC Essential Features of this theory; The aim of law is to reduce chaos and increase unity Legal theory is science, not volition, it is a knowledge of what the law is not what the law ought to be 3). The law is normative not a natural sciennce 4). Strict seperation of law and morality Criticism: Grundnorm is vague and confusing Law cannot be seperated from morality.
