I'm a sucker for the mid-century modern style of animation, because it just makes things feel more abstract, and that's what gives this style it's charm. UPA gave Zagreb Film inspiration for many of these shorts' distinct styles, and it's just amazing to watch. "Ring" from 1959 makes use of angled character designs, mainly animated by Leo Fabiani, and those kind of designs make me think of Izzy Ellis, a Warner Bros. animator who made use of angled designs, especially at Frank Tashlin's unit at Termite Terrace (Izzy also used angled designs at Bob Clampett's unit as well). Also at Tashlin's unit, Art Davis (Later a Friz Freleng animator), who's known for giving characters wild expressions, also made use of angled designs as well at Tashlin's unit sometimes as well.
