Really enjoyed this. The early basketball talk had me reminiscing about the year 10 Carine Senior High distinguished team. Stacked line up with Hall and Nobbs.
Mark Nicoski once visited my primary school with Peter Sumich when I was a kid, when demonstrating how to kick a football to us kids, Mark proceeded to kick the ball low at Sumich's shins and I'll never forger the look of disappointment on Peter's face after he had to stretch to take the mark haha
Schoey my favourite example of what you're talking about - the difference between 2015 and 2018 mindfulness, is Jack Darling. Bad first half, one goal in the third quarter. And then a terrible dropped mark (obviously at different stages). Both drops are horrible, but in 2015, he bends down and gets knocked over, his man takes the footy and the Hawks rebound and kick a goal seconds later. Our short-lived comeback dies. In 2018, he recovers! He grabs the ball cleanly, evades a tackle, handballs to a teammate and we get a stoppage and lock the ball in and win the flag. It seems to me that "mindfulness" doesn't make you perfect, it doesn't eliminate your mistakes. But you don't panic when you do, and you have a clearer head, and react better. Great episode. Loved Nicoski as a kid
Awesome example. Very true that the single game alone in 2015 could have swung some momentum
Great podcast guys. Mark is bloody entertaining as hell. Loved it.Thanks again
Wow what a podcast, can certainly attest to the benefits of mindfulness. Pretty sure I worked with a relative of Nick's in the Pilbara in the 90's. Sue n Steve Nicoski they where a lovely couple who where very generous with their time and advice, pretty sure it is not a super common surname.
So nicko was the spiritual leader of 18? People say Mitchell helped the most but sounds like Nicko drove the message home.
I always rated Nico as a player - but this podcast has really opened my eyes as to how genuine and intelligent he is - I cant wait to meet him in real life!
Nicko your a legend 👏 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Enjoyed this episode very much 🙏🏼💙💛
Always love when the mid 2000’s players are on the pod!
@@xSnappa same! Something about it is just special hey?
Yeah mindfulness is good now its been brought up again, as a thing- for 2018 flag. Can see why u guys won it Schoey that "mindset" aha. Anyway good to be back, consumed too much UK soccer podcasts recently. So is good to be back to a footy one
Go Warwick Saints
He seems wildly humble. I expected Niko to be a little cavalier and perhaps a little snobbish. But not the case it seems.
Also, what's the world's prettiest man doing with a beard?
