- #SHORTS Hey guys:) Once again I wanted to share with you why I decided to switch from OneNote to Notion but now in a #SHORTS video. Well..I did not switch entirely to Notion. I still use OneNote (or Drawboard PDF) to draw important things during classes. But I copy these notes to Notion afterwards for a better overview:) However, in this video I'm comparing Notion with OneNote for all doubters that actually do not wanna leave OneNote. Maybe I can convince you to switch😁

I crazy how I never saw one of the Notion People actually taking a note.
Notion/Obsidian people just talk about structure organisation how nice it looks and digital jargons , which has nothing to do with the actual purpose of note taking.
I love both but notion is more structured and it’s really good but the bad thing about notion is needs internet and for offline mode you don’t have access to pictures
True, I hope they’ll fix that🤔
It has been years of begging and no offline mode still
@@aentropy Being able to look into peoples brains and see how they work is too valuable from an intelligence agency perspective.
@@pogopolo One of my biggest concerns with Notion. And not only that, with all those integrations, you (can) give Notion access to all kinds of personal databases.
I don't know if this is an issue of when this video was created and perhaps an update to onenote arrived later but... You can set a plethora of gridlines and ruler line patterns to your pages in onenote and also search for keywords across your notebooks to find what sections you're looking for (even for handwriting if you do your notes digitally by hand. It's surprisingly accurate).
You also have an organizational hierarchy of Notebooks>Sections>Pages>Subpages so I don't think organization is an issue if you know how to actually use all the features of onenote.
Yea....it's OneNote for me. I organized everything just fine. Also, ever since the integration with sticky notes....that's been magic for me. Quick notes on my desktop...then later on away from my comp I can see them on my phone as a reminder without having to do anything extra to put them there. That has been clutch for me many of times.
What are you talking about? Can we talk about the ways OneNotes allows you to organize in notebooks, sections, pages AND sub-pages. From an organizational standpoint, OneNote can be considered the better choice
For me onenote is idiot proof. Its like taking a paper notebook, write the titles out and sectioning it using coloured stickers whereas notion is like having a blog or tumblr page. Its like learning how to design a web page
Yeah, I think the main benefit to Notion would be the fact that you have endless subpages, but I very much see your point.
Notion = lot of features, that can be so confused to use all them
For me personally the endless space and the ability to move things around however as i please is a big plus. I have struggled between both. But i have seen in times of crisis or when i really need to look something up FAST (hopefully faster than others) OneNote has been my life saviour. Notion is well and good but I guess no matter how much they work on the speed, it will be years before they can match the speed of OneNote.
Notion is cool and all but I like the ability to write, annotate, and type.
So use Obsidian
@@HippieP629obsidian pure trash learning curve
OneNote has the same structure - you have binders, sections and pages. you just have to learn how
right!!
It's a closed API, no ai assistant, doesn't have databases, markdown language, doesn't connect to anything, calendar, formulas, multiple ways to view info.... I could go on and on. There's a reason microsoft made Loop (which is an obvious clone of notion). I'm sorry but onenote, evernote, etc. are old platforms w/ very old methodologies
@@HippieP629 do not be sorry - we should each choose the best system for us. This is an individual choice and should remain as such.
And subpages too :). And you can create connected tasks with outlook/tasks app, andnthose tasks can be grabbed and placed in outlook calendar
Yeah, I think the main benefit this guy's talking about is that Notion basically has endless subpages.
They can't be compared. Notion is cool but it's not intuitive and you can spend hours trying to get the tool to your liking, it's also used for more than taking notes. OneNote is good for taking notes and easy to organise them, very intuitive.
Loseq note taking app is my current love ❤️
I think one note is good if you wanna just write something fast when studying.
apple notes?
Everyone should do what feels good to them. I tried Notion after loooking at all the hyper organized medic students and while it's structured, it takes a LOT of time to organize the notes. I love writing and copy pasting stuff into one note and still know where everything is, just like finding stuff in your own messy room
OneNote has better search than Notion, it can even recognise handwriting in search and you can even choose which notes to be included or excluded from search, "search" can't be better than that. And Notion seems like it's for creating big digital libraries, not for taking purposeful notes.
Onenote is the only app you can use pen to draw, write and is unlimited storage and make as many notes and hold as many file
I've started using notion the past few days after using OneNote for a few years and I find it MUCH more helpful in many ways and I love the customizability
Notion is amazing except that you cant digitally write notes. I hate typing notes
😊
What does that mean?
what device you using? Notion offers writing digitally only in Apple devices, except Iphones ofc.
Don’t diss on one note each of the apps has its own benefit it is not about one is better than the other
i thought we were gonna getsome phonk edit for notion vs one note
And what about OneNote vs Obsidian?
Does OneNote stores all your data in the MS Cloud? IF yes, I see a risk here, like in Notion!!
Ive used onenote for a while and the page structure as you show Ive found to be very ofputting Like putting sticky notes on a page I do like the sub page system tho Notion never used it but looks better organized but could you fix onenote with template or maybe as Dragos says below in "what do you think...." some sort of excel template what do you think David?
you can organize yourself pretty good in onenote as well by adding sections and pages
@@Medic_Dave
Bro u r running levinho youtube channel? Voice is so similar!.🌝
You should try obsidian
ONENOTION
I can't stand Notion.
I would argue that one note is inherently better bc you can make better and quicker notes. You can transfer PowerPoints and can make easily notes next to each file
I don't know. Feels like you spend more time structuring notes then actually taking them with Notion.
For databases and project management sure notion is great. But for taking notes it seems overkill.
Note taking shouldn't be rocket science.
thats good
thx!
I use onenote to take fast memory (picture, image,...)to save it and notion to work and my Project
Wobi mr natürli nid deffed vergesse, dass mer bi Notion, so tolls au isch, kei handgschriebeni notize ka mache 😭
Doch, kannst du.
The two work differently. Notion is a database tool and it can create an intricate network of information. But complexity is not what I want my second brain to be.
I'd like to organise my data in a way that is easy to remember and retrieve.
I've tried making my second brain into a database only to realise that I've messed up all the information in my mind.
Simplicity and straightforwardness should be the keys to make a functioning and effective second brain than an info dump.
I use all the options available for various different purposes. Lol. Damn, that's a mess. (Like this comment.)
So use something like Obsidian instead
I wanted to like notion but it doesn’t allow me to search all my content which is not much. Just search on title is not enough for my use case.
Best note site that has page inside a page like notion? But free version, i cant add pictures & pdfs anymore in notion
What do you think about Notion and OneNote?🤔
@@reD_7T Me too, except the note taking system in onenote which provides more options than notion’s, but that’s just my opinion🤔
@@Medic_Dave This is the same reason I'm still using OneNote. You can use it offline, draw on the go and you can share a page without much tweaking. All these are missing in Notion. You have to pay to retrieve previous versions in Notion.
@@bukton10 yes onenote has very useful advantages!
You can do the same thing in OneNote by copying the chapter / page / section link. Then build infinite overviews. The only real differences between OneNote and Notion is the database in Notion (if you ever wanted to create a database in your note taking app). If you really want to create a powerful table in your note taking app, then you can insert an Excel and that covers 99% of the problems.
@@dragos_c13 Hey Great idea Dragos..Do you have an eg and would it work like a template? thanks
Is notion free pr paid?
I went one time in one note. I didn’t even try to understand what’s go8ng on there besides I really like the notion design
Which one is good for engineering student?
BRO first learn how to use onenote
I used notion a lot last year but now that I'm coming into this year full chemistry, human biology and mathematics, I'm in the process of looking for a good handwriting with the features like Notion but has to be endless like onenote so I can make a gigantic word map.
You can set paper size and limit
Notion is much better than note
These comments are hilarious. Comparing onenote to notion (or any other doc platform) is like apples & oranges. If you're fine w/ simply adding info to pages, use onenote. If you want to 100x functionality, use notion (or coda, anytype, capacities, tana, craft, etc).
Microsoft made a notion clone called Loop for a reason.
It looks nice but it's for team collaboration within MS 365 Business licenses only
is it free to use?
Can you share this template.?
They are different, but it sounds like you just don't know how OneNote works...
Notion free plan can only do 1000 blocks
