Worked there in 90-91 in central Illinois. I was a runner/cashier. We even wore roller skates for a short period. Later I was put in demo. Usually in the frozen foods. Fried mushrooms and cheese sticks...you couldn't help but eat them along with the customers. I eventually went back to runner/cashier position until I left. We had a song they'd make us sing when opening the store ea morning. All I remember is...BEST OF THE PRAIRIE STATE🎶. I was there the day Sam died. EVERYTHING changed that day too. 5 big wigs came in that morning.. the energy became heavy and not as friendly. I left shortly after to work for Olan Mills church and road division.
@@EricCProductions76 Eric, I've been a faithful supporter for over 9 months, maybe even a year now. I think a longer comment or at least something different, than the normal comment you always send me will do.🤣
@@unicornmadness6286 So do you have a suggestion for a future video such as a mall or store or restaurant? And yes, I appreciate all of your comments and your support.
@@EricCProductions76 Well I appreciate that Eric, it means a lot to me. Now besides the Circle K store, which I just realized isn't a restaurant nor a mall,🤣🤣 I had suggested before about the Northgate mall in Washington state. At least I think I commented about it before. Thanks for responding, you're the best! 😊
One main disadvantage of Sam's Club is, too few of them. Easier to find a Costco wherever you are than to find a Sam's Club store. Outside of this difference, they are both very good stores, very comparable.
But you didn't answer the age old question Eric. Who started the $1.50 hot dog deal? I heard that it was COSTCO that started it with hot dog carts outside the store. It was so successful that they started food courts, and SAMS copied the idea. In any event, I like to start my shopping trip with a stop at the food courts, so that I am not so hungry when I get to the food part of the stores ad throw everything in my cart. But even at the new lower price at SAMS, my heart will always belong to the COSTCO wieners! 🌭🌭🌭
Do you guys still have a Sam's club? They took ours out in Washington state. I was very upset, but there still is Costcos so I guess that's okay. Who started the 1.50 hotdog deal, the strip in Las Vegas!
I honestly don't know. It may be Costco because they were Price Club first and Sam's Club followed. Many times, they copy each other and price around the same or a tad bit lower. Never thought about it before.

This made me think of Builders Square, which was a subsidiary of K-mart, both of which would be good topics.

Sam Club is still here where I live. I usually go to Costco before I go to Sam's Club
