Good old Hoppes #9 has been around for years because it works. The two sided denture brushes help since the one side is pointed. I just don't use it after applying Hoppes #9 cause I talk funny then & spit a lot. 🙈🙊
Taurus still having barrel issues. I got one produced in June 2022. Barrel leading caused a noticeable loss of accuracy after 90 rds(60 plated, 30 lead nose) 3hrs in bore cleaner scrubbing occasionally to get it clean. Taurus shipped a new barrel that looks better than the original but haven’t shot it yet.
Yes thank you Jason that was something I did overlook. But they won't have time to rust I'll have them shot again within a few days and they'll be back to dirty LOL
Hey Rob I am 76 I don't get to shoot much now due to health issues , but I have used Hoppes since my late teen years. My thinking if it ain't broke don't fix it. Thanks for videos.
Great video, Might be the herter's ammo. I had issues with Winchester M22 ammo. I had so much lead building up after a few hundred rounds the pistols were key holing at 5 yards. Massive lead build up. But had no issues so far with automatch. Going to try Golden bullet here in the nest few weeks. Thanks William
Do you have one of the early ones? Because you know a lot of those had a bad barrel. And they would lead up. There is some way you can go to the Taurus website and it shows the difference in the bad barrels and the redesign barrels. They are made slightly differently
@@HamiltonOutdoors oh ok, Thanks for the info! I'll look into Taurus website to make sure. I don't have a early model. I bought my 3 in May of 2022. I tried Golden bullet In all 3 pistols and had no malfunctions and no key holing. I'm assuming it was the Winchester M22 ammo. Thanks for the info! William
It’s interesting to me that Taurus has different takedowns for each gun type but ultimately the same internals was interesting for me but I’m a weird one
hello thanks for the vid. I am new to the game and I have a question. Is it ok to run the wire brush in both directions through the barrel? In my head I was thinking I could only push it through the direction of the bullet. Thanks
22 long rifle is a very dirty round. And of course it would depend on how many rounds you shot but I think I would clean it after every range session just to keep it in good running order.

Yes nothing like hoppies #9 I think they should come out with a cologne that smells like it LOL

Don't forget a light coating of oil in the barrel, the cleaner takes all the oil out and it will rust.

Hoppes is some good barrel cleaner. Thanks for the video.
I agree and it's hard to beat something that has worked for me for years.
Love my tx 22 also
They are pretty nice guns. Although I have to admit I haven't cleaned mine in a long time LOL
