Richard, this looks excellent. I'm loving the current Aeon. Can't wait for this.

    Thanks for making this video!
I am glad I don't have to choose between a full re-do and rolling with the old system after getting a little ahead of myself in testing this out.

This is great, I can't wait to deploy this. Could you please make a video showing more about the "Ignition" functionalities?

Awesome! Now I only need to get a 1TB USB Drive :D Maybe my old external HDD is still functional.

I am mico os/Aeon user for a year now, so far very good experience since my switch from Fedora Workstation. Look great with the new installer for simple installation, but I missing more advanced options like encrypted partition with luks2, and dual boot support with Windows, and in geneal custom partition tools for more advanced user case. If laptop only have 1 ssd slots, and linux need to take over the whole disk, then there is an issue with dual boot windows, and I don't want to carry 2 laptop between home and work. Currently I am use single ssd dual boot Aeon and Windows 11, using grub for boot, with BitLock enable for Windows and luks2 enable for Aeon. My usage is 90% aeon and 10% windows, mostly for work, unencrypted disk is (viewed) as unacceptable by IT department for good reason(Suprise.. LOL). I hope the new new installer add advanced partition options at some point for power user and developer down the road.

Really nice. Is there any chance that the installer will offer the choice to backup to a bigger drive that may be connected to the system? My /home can get BIG :)

Nope but you can do whatever you want to backup before booting to the installer and if your USB stick isn’t big enough then the install process won’t mention backup and restore
So.. just take care of that yourself :)

Well looks nice but isn't it possible to just use current /home and not copy it?

Nope because we’re deploying an image with a different partition layout
