  • This is one of the best docking stations on the market right now, provided you have a laptop that supports USB4 or Thunderbolt 4.

You mentioned that it works with your Legion notebook as well. Power supply doesn't work with my Legion 7 (16IAX7)! It refuses to charge my notebook at all!

I ❤ your unboxing video. Could you let me know if the power supply from the docking station is sufficient for your Lenovo gaming laptop?
Did you observe any difference when using the docking station to power the laptop and simultaneously connect two monitors?
    Would you recommend it?
    Thanks!

Wow. I recently got Legion laptop with 300w power supply (i7-12700h and rtx 3060) as well and this docking stuff got me confused pretty much. First i found out that Power Delivery is limited by 100-130W. But that's alright. Understandable.
But then there is dedicated Power Delivery port in the laptop which can be used for power input and i can charge my Legion from 100W GaN charger.
And then there is thunderbolt4 port which actually comes without Power Delivery and you can't charge laptop through it. So you have to use your stock power supply as well.
Reading laptop's manual proves this and now i understand why your dock has this weird double cable. Man
I have Lenovo Essential 3 dock with 135W power supply and only used it with ultrabooks or low power consumption laptops like MacBook or HP elitebook that use 65-100W
    Now things come altogether...

Hi. This is probably a dumb question but I'm new to computer stuff. Could this power my Lenovo Monitor as well? Or do I still have to have a separate power supply to the monitor?

Hey, nice video, got one specific question, I got two ThinkVision M15 (both got 2 usbc DP / PD port), do you think it will work like this: Thinkpad to M15 to dock host usb c port and the other M15 connect to the second usb c on the dock.

I could not get my either of my Legion 5 (15ARH05H) to work with the Thunderbolt 4 (Universal) dock - model 40B00135US. This model came with the single connector cable, not the proprietary dual connector cable. It also only has the 135W power supply. My L5 does work fine with the older TB3 Workstation Gen 2 - model 40AN. Lenovo is such a pain when it comes to docking stations.

Switched to the 300W power supply version and it still will not provide enough power to run full speed and external monitors do not work. (Note: This does work ok with my Lenovo T14.)

So do you recommend buying the TB3 g2 instead of this one? I have a lenovo legion 5i pro

      That's really confusing.
I recently got Legion laptop with 300w power supply (i7-12700h and rtx 3060) as well and this docking stuff got me confused pretty much. First i found out that Power Delivery is limited by 100-130W. But that's alright. Understandable.

Reading laptop's manual proves this: USB PD port designed for power input and output, thunderbolt4 port is designed only to output power.

Hello, I have a Thinkpad E15 Gen 2 (Type 20TD, 20TE) which does not have a separate power socket, the power supply is through Thunderbolt 4 port only.
Can this docking station be used with it? Any other suggestions for docking station for this model?

3:49 that cable design is so annoying as you can't push it up against the wall.

Why will you push it up against the wall when all the other ports are at the back?
