Thanks I've looked all over on how to adjust the belt tension. You made it very simple. Thanks again

This is the first time I have ever left a comment about a video that someone has done showing how they work on there car. And I have watched thousand of video's on all kind of stuff. But I felt compelled to leave a comment,,, great job buddy.. I loved how you explained yourself on what you were doing great job...

I agree, so much .. and, like you said, took the time to explain stuff.. BUT, if you look at MY comment, he was amazingly detailed bigtime.. up until 19:18 and THAT SPECIFIC point, was anything BUT detailed and left out vaguely, which.. in such a detail-oriented job like THIS.. ya don’t wanna leave out the GRAND FINALE task to the ambiguous and risk that viewers application of this tutorial, resulting in the timing being OFF and possibly destroying the engine, because the viewer ‘assumed’ something and got the whole job back together after all that effort.. to blow the engine because the LAST STEP was ‘applied’ carelessly, this, resulting in a catastrophic.. all because the FINAL STEP was vague.

I did all this on my Neon about 10 yrs ago. I have no idea how I was motivated enough to do this. Cause now it needs similar work done again and it might be sitting awhile.

I'll be replacing the TB kit and all four mounts on my 2005 Neon soon. Am waiting delivery on a M12 - 1.75 x 150mm all thread bolt and a thrust washer from McMaster-Carr. The Dodge installation tool is 150mm long so it'll bottom out against the crank and allows the pulley to be completely pressed on by running down a nut against the thrust washer. Thought I could buy those at my local Fastenal store for $23 but discovered that they ended walk-in sales and have a $50 minimum order even for items they have in stock. M-C was $1 higher and charged $10 for S&H via USPS.

others videos are good for getting to your start point. I like the time you spent between crank pulley off and crank pulley on! Detailed on setting on the timing belt tensioner!

    I didn't make a longer rod.
I just stuck a No.3 screwdriver bit on the bolt end. Came right off.

Great work on this video and the tire replacement video. I was looking for a way to install a tire without damaging the aluminum rim. That tool is pricey but will rap my tool with nylon as that one was. They would sell more of those if they reduced the price.

Hi, just came across your video. I'm fixin to replace the head gasket on my daughters' neon and was trying to see what I'm gonna need to do it in her driveway. You provided the details on the timing, the tensioner spring alignment, the crank pulley...great info! I was wondering on the last bolt you put in...the crank pulley bolt. Is it easy to see when the pulley is all the way seated? I couldn't tell how you knew when the bolt was tight enough (I know you guys develop a feel for it) and if the pulley was all the way down and I don't want to strip or snap the bolt at the very end of the process. Thanks much! You're a great teacher.

24:31 how would you put the harmonic balancer back on without an air impact wrench? Most people, like me, do not have air tools. I think I had just jammed a screwdriver into one of the spaces in the middle of the pulley to keep it from turning and pressed it back on using just the original bolt, the last time I did this. It's been several years though.

Excellent video. Thanks for its production. One question I have is removing the crankshaft pulley bolt ? How are you locking the engine down ? You don't wanna be turning the engine backwards do you ? Same thing with torqueing it down. I think it says tighten to 100 foot-pounds.

The easiest way is to coil some rope in two cylinders that are near TDC. One will be moving up when breaking the bolt loose and the other will be going up when tightening it down. The rope stops the movement of the pistons. It's also a cheap way to hold the valves up when replacing valve stem seals.

This is a pretty detailed tutorial WITH ONE EXCEPTION; @ 19:18.. you said, “And right down here is the uh, crank time marks.. and see they’re lined up..” BUUUUUT, you didn’t point out ANYTHING regarding wth we’re supposed to be looking at regarding THE CRANK TIME MARKS, and what specifically you’re referring to as a guaging factor SHOWING they’re ‘lined up’. CARE TO ELABORATE on this point in detail? Either redo the entire video.. or, add the specific detail of this part of the tutorial at the end and add: “Specific detail too the crank time marks @ 19:18” at the end.. AND, add a NOTE at the beginning of the entire clip INFORMING viewers ‘OF’ the ‘details’ of the amendment ‘@ 19:18.
This will go a LONG WAY in regards to how people SAVE your videos and REFER your videos. TRUST ME in this.

good video ,take way to long explaining and giving too much detail about procedures and illustrations.
