Here's a complete broadcast of Atlanta-based SuperStation WTBS Channel 17's kids show, SuperStation FunTime, hosted by Jerry Homan and featuring Ron Kirk and Susan Baer. Also included at the end is the first 7 minutes of the following program, "The Space Giants" (which Chicagoland folks will remember airing on WSNS Channel 44 in the 70s)
    Includes:
PSA for U.S. Forest Service - "Plant a Birthday Tree for any occasion"
Talking plants promoting Super Station Fun Time for 7:30am and 2:50pm (Eastern time)
Station ID / PSA for Department of Energy Hotline
Opening of SuperStation Fun Time including titles (some of the opening music had to be reversed/degraded to avoid RUclips blocking - music is: "Happy I'm Happy" by Benny Golson [1978) (which can be heard in its entirety here: • benny golson happy i' ... )
Part 1 of Encyclopedia Britannica film, "Weather Forecasting," documenting the early history of this field in this segment (at end of which is notice to "tune in tomorrow for Part 2")
RUclips User "bigO! plabax" adds, "The jarring synth music heard at 2:24 and 8:36 was also used as opening theme music on two videotaped programs, "Health 3-4" and "Health 5-6" (for grades 3 to 6), produced and aired on Nebraska Educational Television back in the 1970s, and continued to air into the late '90s. Nothing like seeing '70s ETV in the '90s, along with good laughs! As a side note, when I saw this at school in the mid-'80s, the teacher often had to keep the volume down when the jarring music came on because it was really THAT loud! Even at a normal level! Yikes! 😂 As for the "Weather Forecasting" film, I saw that in its entirety one day in my sixth-grade science hour sometime around in March 1986. Yet TBS couldn't finish showing it. I guess the program staff just couldn't wait to get those cartoons on, whatever they want to do."
    Commercials for:
DeVry Institute of Technology - for fun careers in electronics
    Roadmaster Tire Pump
Promo for The Funnies (promoting Carol Burnett, Bob Newhart, All in the Family and Sanford & Son), starting at 6:00pm (Eastern)
Co-host Ron Kirk demonstrates kite flying (with just a string)
Part 1 of Little Rascals short, "Washee Ironee" (1934)
    Trivia about skywriting
    Commercials for:
Kellogg's Sugar Smacks (Dig 'Em the frog playing basketball)
Reese's Peanut Butter Cup (in haunted house ride)
    Part 2 of "Washee Ironee"
Hosts challenged to say "seashells" tongue-twister fast
Record offer commercial for "Mel Street's Greatest Hits" (this was after his death in 1978)
PSA for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints "Mormons" (from after father brings his newborn daughter home from hospital)
Co-host Jerry Homan gives advice on how to make your own cloud
Opening and closing titles of A.A.P./"Blue Ribbon" reissue print of "Of Fox and Hounds" (Cartoon removed to prevent RUclips blocking)
Hosts discuss different names of clouds, followed by ending credits:
(some of the ending music had to be reversed/degraded to avoid RUclips blocking - music is: "Happy I'm Happy" by Benny Golson [1978) (which can be heard in its entirety here: • benny golson happy i' ... )
    Producer - Mary Frazier
    Host - Jerry Homan
Crazy FunTime Gang - Susan Baer
Crazy FunTime Gang - Ron Kirk
    Director - Wayne Barry
    Technical Director/Videotape - Bob Ryley
    Writer - Carl Beck
    Music/Sound Effects - Mr. Troll
    Audio - Dan Mozley

I used to rush home after elementary School to be home at 3:35 or sooner to watch space Giants. This is an absolutely insane memory trip for me. The coolest thing about the '80s was basic cable and beyond.

Nice to see that the RKO comedy shorts of Edgar Kennedy and Leon Errol were part of this program. In Chicago, they aired on WSNS Channel 44.

Thanks. Loved Funtime as a kid. I hated it when they got rid of those actors (Jerry, Susan and can't remember the other one).

Those Encyclopaedia Britannica films would've been considered "E/I" programming today.

11:07 is a “Little Rascals” short called “Washee Ironee” from 1934 with the 1960’s King World titles where it plastered the original MGM main titles.
25:05 is the King World closing text from the 1960’s, but the KWP logo never appeared until the 1970’s.
These early King World prints are very difficult to find.

11:08 I miss the old times seeing The Little Rascals opening on TV when I was a kid. 25:05 and the ending of it hearing the Rascals cheering. They were the best of times. Where can I find the opening again?

that logo on the left side is huge! please put it back at the previous size like it in the promos. it is too distracting with the "bug" being so large, fills up the entire bottom of my tv and I find myself looking at that more than the content. Please fix this in next uploads.
