  • In this video, Rich looks at using Melodyne to place sounds in a mix. First he discusses what problems we are facing when trying to blend an acoustic guitar in a mix. He demonstrates the usefulness of the Attack Speed Tool to change the attack portion of the guitar’s envelope. He then uses the Fade Tool to shape the decay times of all notes. Finally, Rich uses the Formant tool to be able to place the pick attack in the mix independently from the instrument’s body.
Please note: All the functions used by Rich in this video you will find in Melodyne assistant, Melodyne editor and Melodyne studio.

Interesting although often very subtle results here (esp. in parts 2 an 3 of this series). Is it possible to make the edits in this series to an entire, say, 3 minute take, rather than an 8 bar loop? This would be super time saving! Thanks for these videos :)

Yes, of course you can apply the edits to longer tracks as well.

Love your videos. I have a question. I have done the latest update from melodyne. Now when I open melodyne in my older recordings the tracks don't play audio. In melodyne the vocal notes are grey and it says it cannot find the path to the audio. With my recordings after the update there is no problem. I cannot find anywhere how to fix that but I am 100% certain you know how and can save my day 🙂

Apparently you need to reassign the audio tracks. Please feel free to contact our Tech Support team, they will be happy to help: www.celemony.com/support

😄😄 I could not hear any of the differences when bypassing although I listened with good headphones. My hearing must be as fucked up as my hearing test implies. 🙄

Is there a way to "DRAW MODULATION" into a voice blob?
