- Platinum On Hollow Knight Will Drive You INSANE! In this video, I attempted to get the platinum trophy on Hollow Knight! Hollow Knight's platinum trophy is EXTREMELY difficult so this one definitely angered me lol. I remember beating the final pantheon... Not gonna lie, I fell on my knees, almost cried and prayed to God. This was extremly hard, but also fun

This has probably been mentioned, but for the Delicate Flower quest, you can first drop a Dreamgate near the Grey Mourner, clear your path from enemies (smaller ones will respawn but larger ones will not) all the way (and practice the tricky platforming part near the end), Dreamgate teleport all the way back to the Grey Mourner, pick the Delicate Flower then redo the whole trip with hardly any enemies 🙂

@@BilbusBaggins well, now that I think of it, you may be right... But when using Dreamgate to warp back to the Grey Mourner, you don't have the Flower with you 🤔 but dreamgating does not respawn the enemies 🙂

Seeing how much u improved from the beginning of the video against my boy false to rising up to the challenge of pure vessel is kinda crazy in a matter of a week or 2. Very impressive performance, took me almost a month to finally clear p5 and finalize that play trophy (at heart, I played on switch). Great stuff and I do hope you come back to this in the future and attempt to beat abs rad legit (because the satisfaction u get is insane). Also for an added challenge if u end up rly enjoying the game is attempting to be some or all bosses on radiant difficulty which is where they can 1 hit u. Again great vid and I hope this isn’t the end of ur HK content

I feel like you were making the first playthrough harder than it could be. HK is a Metroidvania, not a "find a boss and try over and over again until you beat it" game. There were many times when simply leaving a boss and going to upgrade your nail/get more charms etc would have made it so much easier. The best example is that IMO you went too deepnest way too early for a first-time player. Obviously, this isn't true for the pantheons, those are just hard.
EDIT: In general I feel like going for trophies made the game a worse experience for you. Most of the time you were doing things for a certain trophy, so you never really got to get lost and get invested in the plot. Still an amazing video though

How is spending 200 hours playing this game, without a guide, backtracking to infinity trying to figure things out by yourself a better and less frustrating experience?? Believe me, I've tried. Backtracking was killing me. fast travel locations in this game are ridiculously far from each other and without looking locations up I would have quit this game on the 10 hours mark.
From my experience if you just play the game normally and explore as much as you can you'll get most of the trophies without looking at them

I’m proud to say that I did not use the invincibility glitch. But seriously though when I finally beat the Patheon of Hallownest I only had three mask remaining in my heart was racing really fast. I never felt such exhilaration in a long time. Took me two weeks of almost nonstop practice to beat it.

This was definitely a super hard trophy I got. I love the game (it’s my favorite) but the platinum trophy cost me around 79 hours, which was fun but sometimes the worst.

I have this little theory about the process of platting Hollow Knight...
So I read somewhere that Team Cherry left the exploit in because they knew some people couldn't be miffed to earn hallownest legit, but that it was only that; an option left available by choice for those who want to use it by choice.
Personally though, i think they left it in because they understood how much of a mammoth undertaking total completion is; beating pantheon 4 after weeks of practice against pure vessel in the hall of gods is still my proudest single achievement, doing it legit felt like going above and beyond. After reaching 112% completion I felt like I had truly succeeded, and that there was nothing EMERGENT left in the game to prove the absurdity of possessing platinum. I like to think this was the thought process Ari and Chris had too, knowing the effort people had put in up to that point, and offering an olive branch in return. Pantheon 5 is a true madman's game, and I tip my metaphorical hat to those who succeeded without the exploit. However, I also tip it to those who didn't, for giving this little studio the love it deserves. Here's hoping silksong is on par with this level of challenge!

Well a lot of people used the glitch every single instance possible during the game, not just for pantheon 5...
If that was their thought process, team cherry didn’t realise how many people only care about plats and couldn’t care less about the game itself..
Personally, i think the glitch should have been removed (given that team cherry actually could), having every single trophy apart from P5 still shows how much a person loved the game, and at least people that actually put in the work would have something proving it
@@sarads7877 there was a glitch ? I did Pantheon of Hollownest legit after several hundreds hours on steam (on a few years) and I'm now trying mods like nightmare god grimm. It's pretty funny...

@@themissakura599 yeah there was... took me 80h to do the pantheons, and at least 30 of those were absolute radiance and pantheon 5... sadly i play on playstation, so there is no way for me to try the mods.. i'm playing other metroidvanias while waiting for silksong
@@sarads7877 people who only play video games so they can "prove" to other people that they played them are just as sad as people who only play them to get more trophies on a meaningless list of them. Honestly can't imagine ever caring what a total stranger (or even just another person in general) thinks about my hobbies that I engage with for my own enjoyment, and definitely would never consider playing video games to be work, or that someone else using a glitch to play the same game somehow impacts me or my experience with a single player game.
I'm surprised I didn't hear about the Menderbug struggles. The REAL hard part of the platinum.
Managed to beat this in 69 hours but damn, it was one of the most entertaining platinums I have ever done

Amazing game and Platinum for sure. But if it's like the Switch and Steam version, then Menderbug shouldn't be needed. It's one of the optional journal entries and a fun Easter Egg that deepens the world a bit. (I absolutely adore how crammed the game is with that type of stuff.)

Felt this 100%, p5 was by far the most time I spent on the game, finished the first play through around 40 hours in, by the time I finished p5 I had well over 100

Its interesting, how the video did not cover some of the more interesting parts, like the Watcher Knights and getting Ismas Tear, Dung Defender, ..
It makes sense, because he is just focussing on trophies, but I really would have liked to see him struggle against the watcher knights and removing the seals looked way to easy, without showing the fights/hard areas before them.
Sorry, my videos are mostly about the platinum experience, not emphasizing the story stuff but instead the road to platinum.

Understood that it takes time and practice to get the Pantheon 5 trophy. But then why not just leave it at that? Don’t complete the plat because you didn’t earn it. You earned the others. Getting the plat with invincibility cheat cheapens the platinum. Seeing your platinum list now raises eye brows and should have asterisks on it. Loved the video, just wish you would have left it as incomplete, then come back later to get the plat legit.

I've been putting off this platinum because of how long it took me on steam to 100% the game, but after watching this video I've realized they've left out some achievements like 100% steelsoul (in steelsoul if you die your save game erases and you gotta start from the very beginning) and the speedrun achievements so now I've decided I'm actually gonna go for the platinum of one of my favorite games!

If you think this is difficult, you should see the steam achievements, there is one achievement that requires you to finish the game with 100% completion on steel soul mode (Deathless run), it was a pain in the ass, took me over 200 hours to get all the achievements, but thats nothing for the greatest game of all time, congrats for the plat.

@@zaskywaker4367 Steel soul is easy, most of the hard fights are dream bosses that you won't die to. For 100% you can get all the charms and do all the easy stuff, no need for voidheart either.
You just gotta upgrade whatever you can and be overpowered for most fights you show up to, with shaman stone and the like.
Ngl i did this but on the xbox ;-; (I never knew about that achievement though)

I’ve been grinding out the last pantheon. For practice, I’ve completed all of them on one-shot (radiant) mode in the hall of gods. Even after 250+ hours, that last pantheon is a pain. Spending so much time on this game without platinum is probably the biggest L I’ve taken on any game.

I don’t blame you. The pantheon of hallownest nearly broke me. I practically went insane when I finally beat it. The second time I beat it…yeah it was just a nice. But I can beat the absolute radiance on ascended with minions and I’m not even touching radiant. If you can beat radiant, you are the best of gamers

If you ever wanna try radiant absolute radiance, I would recommend you to put a lot of effort in your attacks (when you want to attack). Also use abyss shriek, makes it sometimes easier. It took me about 8 hours with a 3 month break when I was at like 4 hours.
Even though you used that glitch I think you did more than enough to earn that platinum. keep up the good work love the video man.

This was actually one of the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my gaming life but I managed to platinum this game 🤩. But yeah, the amount of effort required to beat the fifth pantheon is insane, I practiced for probably one or two months in order to find a good strategy and be “consistent” (60% win ratio) against the absolute radiance. I recorded myself when I won, my heart was pumping SO hard bro 😂
You should upload that man! That's a great moment in gaming to achieve that. Love watching gamers being so focused and once they achieve something so hard watching the relief and happiness on there face

Throughout the video, I could see a lot of similarities with my experience. 60-70h without the pantheons and mainly relaying on the needle as the sole weapon. Oh boy, the spells in the game are absolute beasts, Descending Dark with the damage and invincibility frames, the power of Abyss Shriek/Shade Soul that can wreck some bosses in seconds. I had to RELEARN how to play the game with spells to be able to beat the Pantheon of Hallownest and get the plat after 112h. You shouldn't feel pressured to get content out, put it on the side and come back later. You said it yourself "I do feel bad for doing this", have more resilience you could've done it! This platinum sure feels Hollow for you now. Why not a 2 part video with a cliffhanger at the end of the first one.

@@nick_ar Great, I'll be looking forward to it! One tip I could give, during your practice sessions focus only on 1 boss and just repeat, repeat, repeat until you are comfortable with the fight, move on to the next and come back later to see if you are still comfortable.

I'm sorry but if you cannot beat the last pantheon, then you don't really deserve the platinum. It hurts seeing this after achieving the Platinum legit myself. Suddenly for everyone who did this without cheating, the Achievement lost most of it's value. I don't understand why you couldn't just admit your defeat. What point do Platinums have for Trophyhunters if they are no Challenge? It is a pity, because up till the end I really liked the video.
Michael did I not admit defeat? Look back in the video, I said I wasn’t capable of doing it legit at the moment. As a creator I can’t afford to dump all those hours into the game, I wouldn’t be able to post any videos. I admitted defeat by saying I couldn’t do it, I’m not out here claiming I was able to do it legit. I do regret doing the glitch in hindsight and it does diminish this accomplishment but I still played the other pantheons and the rest of the game legit.
@@nick_ar thanks for your fast answer! You did admit your defeat. But what I meant was to accept that you currently can't achieve the Platinum and revisit it again in a couple of months, instead of cheating it. Because it diminishes the accomplishment for everyone who did not use the glitch.
That being said, I liked the rest of the video and I will watch your videos in the future, I just hope you understand what I mean and will face and overcome difficult trophies in the future, because I think that your viewers (myself included) prefer quality over quantity, so it would not have hurt waiting longer for this video and seeing you succeed :)

The video was fun to watch, and enjoyable, i have spent over 200 hours on this game trying to get everything, including the Steel soul permadeath ones on PC. But Trophy's and acheivments are there to earn them. If you can't, thats 100% acceptable, but in the spirit of the Statistics that are put out for the competion rates, and the respect for the people who HAVE earned them, i just can't support the use of a cheat to get them. If you can't get a trophy, thats totally acceptable, it happens, in this case, leave it then as respect for the people that did do it.

I don’t know why but hornet sentinel in kingdoms edge took more out of me and took longer then pure vessel and the whole 4th pantheon but that 5th pantheon is insane I cried when I finished it love your videos tho keep up the good work

I accidentally found out that hornet can be BREEZED through if you just walk up to her and spam melee with quick slash equipped. will hardly ever have to dodge and it drains her health in like 2 minutes

I managed to platinate HK on pc(then i also did speedrun, steelsoul and other achievments) after something like 120h and it was amazing i think this is one of the best game i have ever played

I did ittttt Finally, I did pantheon 4. pure vessel sucks bro I practiced him for hours and hours, and I finally did it. I got to the point where I could beat him hitless. Now I have to do the boring stage, I have to complete the hunters journal. Ps I'm on on xbox soo there's more achievements. I literally have to beat the game 100% without dying once like brooo also I'm not doing the invincibility glitch cause I don't like cheating. It makes me feel uncomplete. Your kinda lucky to be a platinum hunter. The ps version of the game had such easier achievements, you need to do multiple play through, speedrun ones, ones that you can’t die, and even ones where you have to do different paths in a storyline

I did it with a different route, magic and the shield. The most annoying part are the thorns at the end.

I've been watching your RUclips channel for free weeks now and man it's really good like all the platinums all the content it just makes me happy everyday I'm usually never this happy when I watch someone's RUclips channel but when I watch yours it just makes me feel good I just wanted to just say that

if you want to beat pantheon 5 legit, and use shaman stone and downgrade your nail it is possible to beat it easily that way, also if you do the bindings it will give you blue masks at every bench around 5 max. what happens when u downgrade your nail (use binding for nail) you reduce the bosses HP, hence it is much easier with spells to kill bosses. i did it that way, speaking from experience i finished it on PC first and i have over 300 hours on PC while when i did it on PS4 it took me exactly around 13 to 14 hours including the pantheons, its easy when you get used to bosses patterns.
My charm build was, grub song, soul catcher, shaman stone, quick focus, spell twister. this way you can cheese the pantheon easy. if you feel confident, maybe change some charms like spell twister+ grub song to flukenest charm because i deals insane damage.

The 5th pantheon and the embrace the void trophy is the only reason to why I've never been able to beat the game to 100%. Its such a grind and requires full mastery of the game controls and each boss. It is so so satisfying to finally overcome the challenge and win but i totally understand why you used a glitch to get through it at first.
I remember when I finished the fricking pantheon 5, after like 1 year and 6 months of pure pain, but when I beat it I fell on my knees to cry for joy

Damn, I remember the first playthrough. All bosses seemed so hard. I have played the game a couple times and im still amazed by how hard some bosses were to me the first time.

Edit: By the way, I get it, on my fist playthrough I did the glitch for the last pantheon as weel. It was painfull but I just couldn´t and wanted to get over it. On my third playthrough a year later I actually attempted again, and after like 2 weeks I finally did it. Incredible, such joy, but is something that as much as I like the game, I don't want to ever try again hahaha. Really hope there isn´t a similar trophy in Silksong.
Is weird, because its a unique experience, and I imagine they will add something similar to silksong, I just hope that it isn´t a trophy, which seems unlikely. And most likely we won´t have a glitch either. Which I kind of like, because allthough is a single player game and one can choose not to use the glitch in Hollow Knight, when you just can´t do it, the trophy just fills better.
Today i got the platinum trophy for the game and im so happy can't wait for silksong to get released

I did wonder why you chose to overcharm in panth 5, tho? Definitely think you made it harder on yourself with that decision (especially against some of the last bosses). Sorry if you have already answered that.

It's even more painful on xbox because there is speedrun trophies that you need to beat the game in less than 10 and 5 hours, 100% under 20 hours and 100% on steel soul mode
I did the Pantheons and this platinum Trophy legit without any cheats, glitches or other Tricks. And I have to say, THIS was the MOST difficult and painful platinum and thing I ever did in my whole Life! You have no idea how proud I was to me after that. It was the best feeling of my life! XD
Now after that, no other platinum can’t stop me anymore! :D
Too bad u used that glitch. You will never have the same feeling of victory like me or other people who did it legit. You look like a good Player, but we have to say, the Hollow Knight platinum beated YOU at the end. *Evil laugh from the platinum trophy*

There is another sick Platinum I got and forgot to tell. It’s Outlast 2. That was PURE HELL and one of the sickest thing I’ve done too… I don’t know if you already got it. If not, that’s my challenge to you, if u want. =)

As a person who beat every boss in the hall of gods on radiant, i can say this cost me my education and soul
ama be honest im one of the few that has beaten the pantheon of hallownest and when i did i just didnt say anything i was so happy that i finished this took me 3 days to beat it i was so goddamn proud of doing it ALSO i love that he is honest about using the glitch because he needs to make videos i believe he can try this offscreen maybe live on youtube or twitch and then be satisfied with completing hollow knight
