UK - Flying Scotsman brings out the crowds - The Waverley, 10/9/2023

Ex.LNER A3 pacific 60103 Flying Scotsman took The Waverley charter from York to Carlisle and return, unaided.
The usual crowds were out en masse, which made videoing very tricky. However, considering the numbers around, I managed a reasonable shot of Scotsman heading west through East Garforth station near Leeds.
My good friend Tom Evans contributed a short sequence of her passing through Church Fenton station (slightly earlier than at East Garforth).

At track speed on main lines without diesel assist. I like that.

We need to get rid of the diesels. It can only be done in the UK if the loco is fitted with a Westinghouse pump though - Andy

Yes. It was a very minor low speed impact and should have done no damage, although there will be a full inspection, of course - Andy

Grand as ever Andy , certainly attracted the crowds but that sadly means trespassing ☹️Not being critical but your last few videos seem to have a blue tint to them especially in proper daylight 🤔

I read an engineers report on FS after it’s last major rebuild.
It recommended that it should be limited to 7 bogeys (when unassisted) on punishing routes like the S&C.
This is because of its old age, it’s moon mileage, an abusive previous owner, and the frames are ‘cut and shut’.

I'ts been handling 12 easily on its last few outings so whatever that problem was, it's been overruled - Andy
