The ps1 version of Capcom vs snk 1. Is based on pro version. So ps1 version is the pro. There is no vanilla version or the basic version for ps1. On the other side dream cast got the basic version and the pro version of Capcom vs snk 1. But the American region of Dreamcast only got the basic version. While on the Japan region of Dreamcast got the basic version and pro version of Capcom vs snk 1

I got really confused with the "EX Characters" that are almost the same movesets but with few changes (this video with the Normal and EX Characters Supers as an example). At least on CVS2 everyone from CVS1 got balanced very well with their respective movesets and super moves.

Curiously Ryu and Iori are the only ones without an EX version since they already have alternative versions as Evil Ryu and Orochi Iori respectively
I actually liked the simpler gameplay of CvS1 better, it was reminiscent of old school SF2 mixed with early king of fighters.
SNK Groove, own't let you use Level 3 supers until you are holding on by a thread.
