Hi! My mom saw a pattern for this and wanted me to make it. I'm glad your video is here because I can't really read patterns that well. Although I considered it a bit long (probably because i have a short attention span) I was able to get the gist from skimming the vid and that's some of the best types of videos there are! :D I'm gonna make this now and hope that she's happy to see it :] Thx!
Thank you for such a kind feedback! I hope it turned out well!
@@handmadebyraine It did turn out well! Mom loved them :]
So funny to see it as a Valentine's heart. For us (Danes) it is a Christmas tree decoration - as Christmas is the feast of hearts/love...
Absolutely, the hearts make beautiful Christmas ornaments. I figured pink ones could make cute Valentines!
In Denmark this is a Christmas ornament 😉 Really pretty though ❤️
Hi Mette, I have been told before! :) I just love Scandinavian home design & crafts so much, I hope my tutorial inspires the makers of both Christmas and Valentine's decorations! :)
Hi Mette, when making as a Christmas ornament do you recommend using "heart" colors like pink and red or are other colors used as well?
@@courtneygrove8751
Red and white is a classic (colors of the Danish flag), but all colors are up for grabs when making a ‘Julehjerte’ (Christmas heart / Heart of Christmas).
Traditionally you fill it with candy and hang it on the Christmas tree 🎄
Só cute. Thank you from São Paulo Brazil
Thank you! Greetings from Oregon!
Very pretty❤
Thank you! 😊

Perfection💜💜💜
Thank you!
This heart is beautiful ! I would love to make this for my bedroom . I’m not sure my basic crochet skills can do this . I would fill it with rose petals & lavender to hang in my room . Could you send me the directions please ? I’m disabled & it takes me a while to figure out how to do things . Thank you for sharing & inspiring me .
Thank you, Elisabeth! This is a great idea! I'm sure you can do it! Let me know if I can help and here is the written pattern of the heart: handmadebyraine.com/danish-heart/
Happy crocheting!

Thank you, Maria!
This is very nice..I will do that..I like it..Thanks😍😍😍👍👍👍🌼🌺🌸🌹💕
Thank you! I hope your heart came out beautiful! 😍
Very, very cute. I always have trouble with oval things like that, but I will give this a try. These could also be Christmas ornaments as well. Or even a gift tag with a goodie in it.
Thank you, Kathy! Absolutely, they are actually originally Christmas ornaments in Scandinavia. And I just liked the idea of putting Valentine candy in it on Valentine's Day! :)
Beautiful clever project!
You don't make it clear that 3 sc go in the 29th stitch in the written though. This is basic beginner project that is why the clarification is needed.
I love this project for teaching!
Thank you, Kat! I agree, it needs to be as clear as possible and I updated the written pattern text a little. I appreciate your feedback because it's very helpful to improve my posts. If you have more questions, please let me know, I'm happy to clarify.

It's very hard to write a pattern! I wouldn't even try. I would have it tested by a beginner if was at that level, intermediate, etc. before I'd put it forth bc I'm a chicken! I admire you ppl on you tube.
The link for the written instructions is not working. Do you have a different link? It is a beautiful heart! Thank you for this tutorial ❣
Thank you for letting me know! The original designer must have removed the page. Here is my page handmadebyraine.com/danish-heart/
I love this but I wish you would redu this and make it pillow size. Where it could be used as a pillow or like a over night nap sake for a kid there's no videos out there for this kind of stuff and this pattern would be so pretty. Plz try for us. If maybe you can tell me how to make it bigger. Thks for your videos.
Use a bulky yarn and larger hook and I bet it will come out pillow sized.
Thank you, Ann! I do have a heart pillow pattern in mind I could try. It's not my own design but when I found the pattern, I wanted to make it for Valentine's Day but then I did the heart coasters instead. Anyway, please stay tuned for the heart pillow. I also have a small backpack tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/isF60661Ymg/видео.html
Thks for responding and I will be watching out.
I like you make herat ..ciute
Thank you, Betty!
Hi I’ve already made one of your hearts following this video but would like to male a bigger one To achieve this would I start with say 40ch and when it comes to the finger bits would I ch 38st thank you
Hi, you can definitely experiment, I don't have exact stitch count for bigger heart because I haven't tried and it's not my own design. Happy crocheting!
Thank you will try it later using more stitch’s next time
@@hcraig611 I just made 1 for my grandson to give his girlfriend and my 9 yr old granddaughter asked me to make her a big 1 so now I'm making it using these exact directions only using worsted weight yarn and a 5.5 mm hook. 1/2 done with it at the time of this comment and so far it looks great!
What type of thicker yarn works? I don't care to use the thread.
Hi Robyn, I would think any size of yarn (except bulky) would work. I just found thread size 3 to be perfect but I also used acrylic yarns to make bigger hearts. Happy crocheting!
@@handmadebyraine I made 1 with the #3 thread and it turned out so cute. I made it for my grandson to give to his girlfriend then my 9 yr old granddaughter saw it and wanted a bigger 1 so now I'm making another using worsted weight yarn and a 5.5 mm hook. I'm 1/2 done with it and so far it looks great.
Tks sorry cant make this preety heart v v hard for me i m v old lv to c n enjoyed .👌⭐️👌⭐️👌

HOW MUCH YARN DID YOU CUT FOR THE WEAVING OR SEWING
Hi, I don't have exact measurement but I cut the thread to leave the tail much longer than for usual weaving.
@@handmadebyraine DID YOU CUT ABOUT 12"
@@DarleneLisaOwens I cut longer, at least 20 inches. Just in case!
No entendí nada alguien que nos pueda explicar bien gracias
Do you have written instructions for this please

Can we do a bigger size
Hi Marjorie! Yes, you can make a bigger one with thicker yarn and bigger size hook, or you can try to add rounds but then you need to make sure the strips will all be the same width. Happy crocheting!
Thank you for. The answer
Per favore si può avere una traduzione in italiano nn conosco l inglese

That’s great. Thank you. The original link didn’t work.
I tried to make it 3 times but all tries are failures. Something wrong with this pattern.
