  • I spent an afternoon a while back building this as a "proof of concept"
actually, I already knew the concept worked, I wanted to see if it worked well enough to justify doing more with it.
It does work, but as I explain in the video the soft layer of the caster prevents it from being what I would call "serviceable" but a few modifications and it should work for the type and level work I'm hoping to do with it.
Feel free to make suggestions or ask questions

The newer version that even after all these years I have yet to finish (fingers crossed this summer the stars align) won't have the nylon coated wheel. Other than that it really amazed me how well it worked for scrap thrown together in an hour or 2.

I'm thinking that part of the reason it is bending so quickly is the curvature of the bottom "wheel". It would be putting pressure over a smaller area.
I like the idea of using a caster for the top wheel. I wonder if a person could use a sintered metal caster, or strip the urethane off the wheel for a harder surface.
    Either way, thanks for sharing!

I'm no expert but from a few videos I e watched of people who know more about it than me I'd say it's both, the curve of the bottom wheel and the urethane on the top wheel. Lazze will use a large rubber band to start when doing some serious metal movement then take the band off to get the finished results. One of these months I'll actually get cleaned up enough to finish this thing and put it to real use. Thanks for watching and the comment.
