When they interview you for the first time for 485 and they have verified what they need what is the point of delaying things. I think it is a way to deny deny. What if couple gets divorced or spouse dies - you are again in limbo.

Hi, thx a lot for these videos! I have paid for and had my biometric fingerprints taken before the temporary green card. Should I pay again for biometrics for the i-751? Also, the USCIS website recommends paying the filing fee and biometrics with separate checks, from my understanding. What do you recommend from your experience? I'm filing the i-751. Thx in advance.

I wonder if it makes sense to wait for 48 extension letter and then file N-400 in case an officer can’t approve both at a naturalization interview. My i-751 has been pending for over 14 months now.

Hello!! I'm tryin to pay the fee for my I-751, we tried paying with credit card but our bank keeps blocking it. We don't have personal checks because we have never needed them. Due to some updates the Chicago office no longer accepts money orders. Can we pay the fee with a check that is not under my name or my spouses? We are in hurry to get the paperwork in before my greencard expires!

You can apply for the N400 while I751 is pending. You will have a combo interview at the N400 interview. However if you pass the N400 part and there is not enough evidence for the I751, you will get a RFE after the Interview. Once ypu send in more evidence and they decide to accept the I751, then the N400 is accepted also and you will have your oath ceremony. However if they decide that there is still not enough evidence on the RFE, they will deny the I751 which then means the N400 gets denied also. You will then get with a Lawyer and file for the I751 all over again with clarify any errors o why they denied the I751. I hope this all makes sense. I went through it myself.

About 2 months after the combo interview my husband and I were called back for another interview because the officer wanted to clarify a few things which seems we did because about a month later we got notice that the I-751 was approved.
