Thank you for sharing this, yes books are political! Almost everything we do is a political act one way or another. Even though I don’t directly reference politics in my content, it is political simply for existing. Love what you’re doing my friend.
I love that you are continuing this conversation about books being political in nature. I've always understood that on some level and I think it needs to be discussed more. I've never read a book that didn't make me think. History has taught me that thinking IS political. It's crazy to me that people will actively try not to think about what they've read because I think we all are worth the introspection, reflection, and growth that comes from it. Thank you for the book recommendation, I haven't read this yet. 🙂
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 love love love that you’re back again with another video ! I was literally just thinking about this book and your insight and perspectives and it’s spot on ! I’ll definitely pick it up . I’ve always loved me some Britney! Had to hide it from my mom growing up but whatever lol
Thank you for the review. Wow, yup, she's always been "the" pop star in my mind too. Poor Brit. We still still love her tho. I hope she's doing well and still free. ❤
Interesting! ❤The most political book I’ve read this year was “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks”. By Rebecca Skloot… talk about not having a say so on your body… whew. I barely made it through this book.
I had zero interest when this came out because I didn’t want to feed the frenzy/ and perpetuate the voyuerism… Not to mention I’m a bunch older than you/her and just didn’t like the drama. That said - Imani B recommended it & talked about Wendy Williams too. From that perspective it seems CRITICAL that we all understand what they went through and how it could EASILY happen to anyone! 💔💔💔

Books play in my head like movies too! It really gets annoying when Hollywood thinks the wrong people should be cast
I love this so much! Winnie the Pooh was surprisingly political with its focus on community building 😂
Yup! Books play out like movies in my head, too!

I just love listening to you and am looking forward to more of your videos!
Thanks for the video and perspective! I like the longer format too.
Glad you liked it!

i loooove some long form content from sunnydae. ❤️ u right, we DO need better things to watch! and this background? it’s giving “Between the Lions” 🦁🧡
I’ll choose my current book, Non-Euclidean Graffiti. It’s poetry. I don’t actually understand it. But it is certainly making me think

If you started a book club, I would totally join! *wink, wink*
