I randomly stumbled upon one of your posts. It has inspired me to get back to my sketching. More importantly it has inspired me to get more ourdoors, I feel like I am missing this. I have always hiked, camped, walked, been to the beach, mountains, and desert. As I get older, and my hip and back hurt, I have developed other interests, and get my exercise at the pool at the gym. Getting back in touch with nature sounds like something I did not know I was missing in my life. I hereby pledge to get out and enjoy nature at least once a week, and just sit and enjoy the bird song and the wind. And sketch! Thank you for sharing.

I am so happy to read your pledge, even just a little bit of fresh air and communing with nature is good for us. It is good for nature too as we are a part of nature and it needs to be loved, cared for and noticed by us in order to thrive. So I hope this pledge works well for you 😊

Thank you for this Alex. I have had the most amazingly beautiful day, crowned by this message from you. I’ve been toying with the idea of signing up to the Circle and nature journaling is calling to me very strongly as an extension of my sketching and watercolour practice. Will get it sorted tomorrow. Just have to work out how I’m going to fit it all into my life! Oh, and I have been forest bathing in the past with my mindfulness/meditation teacher (which was so moving) and he’s also a Buddhist 🙂👏

Thank you so much for joining up! I'm thrilled to be a part of your creative journey. My suggestion with fitting it all in is to start slowly, perhaps with the "What else is here?" exercise (see the "How to Start a Nature Journal" course on there) and not expect too much too soon - we tend to give up on things when they become a big demand in our life. Start with 10 minutes or so from time to time, and see how that goes. Then look at how to integrate it with your watercolour and sketching. Give me a shout in the lives, via email, or in the community if you have questions 😊

Hi Alex, I do hope you got to relax on the retreat. Your future plans for mindful Nature connection sound interesting, and I 'd like to hear more about that when you start.🌞🌿

As you look at nature and contemplate the astounding beauty of creation, perhaps pause and ask, "Who is it that made this? Who is the Uncaused Cause that generated this beauty? And why did this Creator make it -for whom was it created and why?" Seek deeper into the questions of the Who of what you see, and you will begin to find the Truth that loves you. God bless.

I am Buddhist so do not really believe in a creator god or ask these kinds of questions, but thank you for sharing your experience here. It sounds like it could be a great avenue of thoughtful journaling for you to pursue 😊
