The price I saw on this 8oz product will comfortably cook two Nigerian pots of soup for my family🏃🏿
😂 but feel it is good quality ingredients.
@@nwayoo9559 it depends on what you think is good. The functional ingredient in it is BTMS & Cetearyl Alcohol. The rest are humectants and a little preservative which may or may not be good depending on the climate and style of choice.
However, I think it is overpriced for the small bottle (so also my current favourite leave-in- Camille Rose Aloe Butter Gel)
We have been told the illusion of "clean beauty", and "all-natural ingredients", forgetting that the process by which the functional ingredients in all these products are arrived at is through the science lab.
I, however, use products based on how they respond to my hair and nose.
It's overpriced for the ingredients, Sis, especially for the small bottle. The functional ingredients are BTMS & Cetearyl Alcohol. The rest are humectants which may or may not be good depending on climate and hairstyle.
However, I always support what works so, if it does, why not?
I 100% agree with you on air drying. I first started using Kinky-Curly when I lived in Phoenix. Worked amazingly without having to sit under my hooded dryer. I moved back to NC a year ago and I thought my hair suddenly hated the Kinky-Curly system. So I left it alone for a long time. But then I tried it again (w/ a topper) and dried under my hooded dryer... Made all the difference in the world! It's once again my go-to combo when I don't have time for experimentation.
Love the hair Kayla 😍😍. I'm in awe of the lenght. My hair is also long but it took so long for it to start hanging and shrink less due to the weight and the amount of water I use with my gels. I hope to grow mine as long as yours
Great informative video!
I use it for moisture under hard holding gels, and it works for my hair.
Yes! I use Kinky Curly as a base and EcoSlay
Jello Shot on top. I get a medium to hard hold and great definition.
@@wannabe41 yes ma’am. That’s one of my favorite combos.
Yes, I’ve used the custard in place of UFD and then ICH.
@@karmikarm1079 my hair loves Camille Rose Curl Maker with I Create Hold Gel on top. I get a lot of days with that combo.
I use the leave in under everything.
Your hair is looking great!🥰 When I first started using Kinky-Curly I struggled a bit, but once I got the hang of it the system is more doable. However, for my hair, the hold can be too strong.
Thanks for tips on how to use and get the best out of products
Want y’all to get your moneys worth!
Love your nails. Agree with the kinky curly tips altho I've never tried the system with a topper. I have experienced some tangly issues with the leave in when I i used it. I had to make sure the hair was very detangled and that I used enough water. These days I'm in my "whatever gel" phase tho 😅
Great tips. My go to leave in is the As I Am classic or TGIN Green Tea. Both work with Kinky Curly Custard. However, I like UFD as a base gel over these leave in conditioners with Kinky Curly Custard as a topper even over CRN Curl Maker. Ouidad Advanced Strong Hold Gel (red design) is another great topper gel. A little amount of these as topper gels goes a long way making it not so pricey per use.
Setting the style with my hooded dryer on low heat is important as is more frequent WNGs 3-5 days max. based on moisture retention and activity.🏖.
Be well.
Great tips. Your hair is cute 😊
Thanks!
Got my first good results with this combo after a lot of trial and error. Goes to show technique is key!
💯💯💯
I used to think I was sensitive to aloe vera for years until I started checking the ingredient list of every single product I used during wash day. I found that they all contained protein so I had to eliminate a few of them and started clarifying my hair regularly. Haven't had any problems with aloe based products since.
I only use Kinky Curly
I have used the leave in with other gels and it works great. I’ve never tried the system together and I might try it since my hair is hydrated. I live in Southern California so it’s relatively dry climate here. I don’t air dry and my hair loves Aloe, I use Curly Magic.
Oh yeah, you should definitely be able to get away with the (plain/pure) system in a climate like yours!
ty for mentioning diluting it. i could not understand why the leave in was so praised when it left my hair tacky until i Iooked at the ingredients. it has no water in it 😅 i start applying on soaking wet hair in the shower and couldn’t believe how i was able to maintain moisture for 7 days
These are great tips! I've been using the KC system ever since I started following BGC. I have been topping it with the Obia Naturals custard for a softer hold in the winter and Eco Slay in the summer for a strong hold.
Re diluting the product, do you add water to the leave in even if you're already working on very wet hair in the shower?
Yup. So, I rinse my DC/Conditioner out and then go right into applying the Knot Today. It always feels a bit…thick despite the just rinsed hair so I quickly tip my head in for a lil more water. Not much! Greatly improves the slip and spread ability.
@WhatTheKink Ah...yes! That makes sense. I also apply the leave in right after rinsing out my DC and yes, it does feel thick!
Thanks for tips on how to use products @@WhatTheKink
What happened to their website? I loved all their products and some aren’t even listens anymore 😭😭😭😭
Looks like they’re focusing on the top sellers now.
It's just too far outta my price point to be spending money on both the leave in and custard.
Diluting it makes it last and helps it clump the curls
They changed the formula now it's like water and it smell like chemical not that wonderful tropical coconut. That was the only gel that gave me hold and definition.
Interesting. All my jars have a strong marshmallow vanilla type scent.
