Ok, after watching it over and over. Imma write them all in no specific order by heart. I'm also translating it to Brazilian Portuguese. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me.
1 First and foremost (Primeiramente, antes de tudo)
2 Off and on/On and off (de maneira intermitente e sem regularidade)
3 Out and about (estar "por aí", dar "uma volta", sair para perto sem informar localização precisa)
4 Ins and outs (o caminho das pedras)
5 Fair and square (conseguir honestamente sem roubar/trapacear)
6 Null and void (sem valor)
7 All or nothing (tudo ou nada, 8 ou 80)
8 Step by step (passo a passo, aos poucos, progressivamente)
9 (by) leaps and bounds (progredir/desenvolver/avançar rápido, em pouco tempo)
10 (to leave) High and dry (deixar na mão)
11 Sink or swim (Vencer ou perder por conta própria, sem a ajuda de ninguém)
12 Down and out (desanimado, quebrado, sem emprego, sem grana, sem esperança)
Obrigado mais uma vez, Wes! Você é o cara!
Thanks again, Wes! You're the man!

Wes, would you be so kind as to teach us how to pronounce clusters or blenders? I've heard you pronounce "month" a bit differently. I mean, the final "th" is changed to only "t". Did I hear you correctly? If not, my apologies. Clarify that to me please, if possible. I really appreciate your accent and pronunciation. You've done a great job. Thanks so much.

Awesome video, Wes! Quick question. Which one is the correct form: more importantly OR most importantly? I can't seem to find any explanation on this online and your input would be greatly appreciated. Stay well and stay safe. All the best! :-)

    • @InteractiveEng
      @InteractiveEng  3 года назад

Glad you enjoyed the lesson Rodrigo. Both are correct. If saying MOST it refers to the most important item. If saying MORE, you're comparing it to the thing you said before. 👍

I have a question. Binomial means two words, and pair means exactly the same: two things, two words. It's redundant, isn't it?

The phrase sink or swim to me has an unfortunate experience attached to it. I used to work in Emergency Mecdicine and these parents, who took that phrase literally (and threw their daughter into the water, "to force her to get used to it" even though that was the first time she'd ever been in the water) needed paramedics because she panicked after being tossed unceremoniously into lots of water and she sucked big gulps of pool water (with chlorine in it) into her lungs.
There are certain phrases I've never beeb able to use again after they've become attached to such intense memories but for the record I don't think they MEAN to throw someone into a pool ofr water and then shout "Sink or swim!" to a person who's never been IN that much water. --Vicki
