DIY MARATHON ALERT! For this week's video I decided to compile some of my favorite thrift flip DIYs that I created since the beginning of my RUclips journey. I really went through and came up with a solid list of projects that are affordable and aesthetic AND easy to achieve. In this video, you will see different painting techniques, some introductory wood working projects, upholstery and fabric projects. But my favorite kind of thrift flip is to not only alter the piece aesthetically but to give it a completely new life and purpose from what it was initially, such as the candle wall sconce or the wooden linked object. But even still, my favorite thrift flip to date HAS to be the nearly 8 ft tall faux olive tree I recently created. Make sure you let me know in the comments which one inspired you and don't forget to tag me on IG if you happen to recreate any of these projects. Thank you all for your amazing support and positivity!
    Xo,
    Fia

Yay! Finally, I found a thrift-flipping DIY RUclipsr that doesn’t just slap white paint on everything and make it farmhouse and French cottage! 😅Thank you, Fia! I really like your decoration style.

Yes, Ive been hunting for the same as well. I enjoy some of what I can learn of techniques even if I dont like the style. But its starting to hurt seeing so much "lets paint it white and slightly distress it!" paints jobs.

I accidently found your site while scrolling on my RUclips channel on TV. I am impressed that a a younger woman would explore how to have a really nice look in her home without busting her family's budget! I've only watched one video but I can't wait to rewatch and take notes. Your efforts (hard work) expands my level of creativity! I am addicted and will be sharing with my daughter and daughter-in-law! Kudos to you and your family.

Lilly with her butterfly enjoying her puppy life! Monarchs are so beautiful I haven’t seen as many this summer as in the past our neighbor did grow his beautiful zinnias this year they usually attract bubble bees & butterflies. Next summer he will have wild flowers so we should see what they will bring most likely the bees from the neighbor who has bee hives behind us! Thank you for your video they always make my day!! Hope your well. Joanna & Venus

I am new to your channel and I was able to sit and watch most of this video. There is nothing that did not come out amazing. Your pieces are all high end looking and you recycle which I love seeing. Too many things go into dumpsters that are very useful to crafty creators! I would like to see, if you wanted to add some of the Spanish moss to a few olive branches as if it was growing off the trees! Just curious to see what that would look like. Lots of trees in New Orleans and the suburbs have trees with moss growing on them and since you used it in your pot it may look good. Have a blessed day!

Your eyes are gorgeous!!! Looove the olive tree idea I did a wysteria tree 30 years ago before wisteria was big, I would feel more comfortable if that pipe fitting extended out more, I would be afraid it would eventually get too hot and catch the wall on fire. Also, if you put a chandelier bobeche under the candle you could even add a glass hurricane shade to that or a faux candle with a black shade to match the tray, and even add a little gold edging would be sooo cute..Loooove your ideas! I made my own lazy susan out of those trays...(I missed how you punched the holes) Those rings would look so beautiful with bright green moss glued to some of them. (Im thinking out loud here) lol! I live for my E6000 :) I would have used both feet on that gold bowl, I use surgical tweezers that are extra long and lock to hold my teeny nails in place til I can pound them in. Everyone should own a pair. Beautiful bench, good job! :) love the frame with the branches, I have seen that done before and really need to make one of those. Those rivet corners on the contact paper table are such a nice touch! Bravo on that. The sound is very soft at the second half of the video, just FYI :)

    *ADVICE* for MidCentury Modern Bench
Before adding any Stain or Paint and when you said “Obviously it’s not perfect” you would have seen an incredible difference with just an easy fix by putting a PRIMER first! The primer penetrate the pores in the wood, allowing any stain or paint you add 😮😮on, to look even and leaves you w. a profesional finish! Regardless… it looks incredible! Nice job! I just love your beautiful minimalistic vibe! So breath taking. If u ever get tired of any of these makeovers and the ornaments on your tree & the different color of ribbons, HEY! I'M OVER HERE! JUST STUNNING. I loved all of these. Great tip on the tree collar. Some corrugated metal from Lowe's/Home depot etc... would look amazing as a tree collar. [You could even use a cardboard box For the base to fit in and drape the faux fur blanket or the faux leather material as a cover for the cardboard box. You could cut the cardboard into a oval/round base and glue strands of wooden beads around the cardboard. You could use Yarn. Faux fur. Even a planter like you had earlier for the Olive tree. I would love to get some tin, that is thin metal and have 2 tree collars and then Have a large 4 1/2' then 2 ft and then 1 1/2 ' gingerbread family. Love your style. 😊

Love these... DIY doesn't have to be cheap looking. I've done a ton of these trees with set design and if you take the time to do it properly, they can be stunning. It's worth taking the time to do the details properly. Also if anyone wants to use rocks or something heavier in the base, do the same thing with fill (recycling etc) and then lay a few layers of cardboard at the top and the stones will be stable.
The "serrated" scissors are called Pinking Shears for anyone who wants to track down a pair. They reduce the fraying of fabric edges so they come in quite handy for DIYers who use fabrics.

I really liked every one of your diy's, you're very creative. Don't you just love how you can take an idea and make it your own, in your own color scheme, like the canvas painting. I've actually thought of doing before that w/my own color palet and seeing yours has inspired me to go for it! Thank you so much for sharing your creations and God bless y'all and baby!!😇

Mine too! That vignette is gorgeous! Anything wood and/or organic is what I immediately go to! Is there a tutorial on the twig headboard? I think I have I’ve in my files about making one for a coatrack. New subscriber here!

Great ideas! I especially LOVE the woodsy headboard and I'm definitely going to make one but to hang on the wall as art, not a headboard. Thank you so much for your BRILLIANT diy ideas!! Excellent instructions, too!!

    That clock was Dope😁
Those scissors with the serrated edges are called Pinking shears. Used in sewing to keep the edges from fraying and not having to double stitch😁
Loved it. Great stuff. Makes me wanna hit my Goodwill, which I haven't been to in quite a while😁

Adding another branch frame above the existing one would give the headboard some height. Very inspiring Fia. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇨🇦

That moment where you have a pair of old scissors specifically for your floral wire 😅 I use my wire cutters for so many projects and then end up placing them somewhere and can never remember where that is :S so I keep old scissors in my craft box now 😆

Nobody in the world finds the stuff at goodwill/thrift stores like you find. It blows my mind that you find what you do, just doesn't seem possible.
