  • Forged Viking Drinking Horn Stand With Cow head Blacksmith project simple build
Hello all and welcome back to Empty Pockets Ironworks, Thank you all so much for the kind words and congratulations in regards to our debut of our new forge press, Its a wonderful thing to have and we feel very fortunate to be able to use it. Expect more to come in the way of larger projects here very soon. It has dramatically increased the forging process for drawing tapers and manipulating material quickly.
We are fast approaching 2000 subscribers!! this is HUGE as I never thought it would go this far. I have no delusions of being a RUclips star as I don't think I fit the description. Regardless I will keep pushing the channel as much as I can. Expect a giveaway announcement soon as we approach 2000. I haven't decided if we will be doing another knife ( utilizing the press) or one of our relatively famous roses painted for Valentines. maybe make it a choice to the winner and offer both up for grabs, we shall see as time goes on.
This was a relatively easy project and I wanted it to have a somewhat Viking era and ancient Egyptian look. I think as simple as the item is the two mended together well and made a nice piece to display one of my horns. I will be making some simpler ones to sell with horns for upcoming shows, we shall see how they go and add them to our ever growing stock. I made this one up as I was going along, I had thought of the double banding at the end of the tail I would have forged it instead of welding the two loops together. "cant win them all right?"
**Also please (if you don't mind) like the video and comment as much as possible, the algorithm really helps the channel grow and put my videos into the suggested que. Of course shares and views are paramount to the success of this channel so I really truly appreciate everyone one of you that share to Facebook etc.
Thats all for now Hope everyone is doing well and hope to hear from you all again soon.
    Chris

That new press looks like it is working out nice for you buddy. Gonna have to steal your idea of that textured hammer for myself also brother.

Thank you, and yes it's definitely my new favorite toy/tool lol. The texture hammer is just an idea I had while making dragonfly wings, I usually dremel designs in but for our lower cost ones I thought a texture hammer would be great. So far folks love it, especially if you forge afterwards then surface grind or buff it leaves a neat antique look. I am think I will make a set of texture dies soon.
