Tried playing again today on Pro and I've gotta say this confirms my suspicions on the swing timing randomness. Coming from a pretty consistent Masters Clubs player in TGC19, this game feels much worse in terms of tempo, swing timing, and consistency. Hitting fairways with the driver seems to be random at best. Thanks for making this video and I hope HB Studios and 2K address this or this games not going to see much daylight from me at least.

Yeah, it is rather odd. I ran a few tests similar to yours however, the graphic settings were set to the minimum. I did notice a little different compared to yours because I did have a few more consistent shots, but I also did a 100 plus swings too. Would you do me a favor and run the same test on yours to see if that works?

I got to the point where I was consistently shooting -10 but, for no apparent reason, I then couldn't hit a fairway except by luck. I know the game might get a little dull if there's no challenge but, considering I paid for the game, that's up to me to decide... isn't it?
Not sure whether this is encouraging or what. Just watched a video of a guy with a console controller and it's all very much easier using one of those. I've been going nuts wondering why I can do two similarly-timed movements on consecutive shots and one is *fast* and the other is *very slow.*
I calibrate and calibrate and calibrate and calibrate and it stays fast. Always fast, no matter what I try, always fast. This is such a broken mechanic and makes the game near unplayable on higher difficulties.
@bahnzo Do you have an Nvidia card? In latest graphics (relatively latest anyway) there's a setting to lock the FPS. I locked mine at 60 which is console-like and my timing appear to be more consistent. I'm beginning to think the Devs are creating swing timing off some calculation that is variable and related to FPS. My key Nvidia settings right now are: Low Latency Mode: Ultra Max Frame Rate: 60 Monitor Technology (G-SYNC) Power Management: Prefer Maximum Performance Threaded Optimization: On Vertical Sync: Off

Can this technique be used in The Golf Club 2019 ? The games are basically the same aren't they ? As far as algorithims in golf games go , there are intentional variables to each players swing for intentional imperfections . Example : Links 2003 AI players make almost no mistakes after a certain Tier of 88 to 90 . But they do make mistakes in each golf game with rare randomness, around maybe ...every 20th shot goes wonky or in error. So i think its built in to simulate real life .
im thinking its some kind of anti cheat if you're swinging the exact same values every time after a few shots the game might assume you're running a script. a normal player wouldnt perfectly nail both swings and the power each time to the exact same values
This guy gets perfect more than anyone. The macro doesn't always work for whatever reason (lag , maybe) . I don't know what people are missing about this- YOU JUST DON'T WANT TO CHALLENGE YOURSELF to get better. You would rather have the illusion of impossible equality, which is against nature. Your loss, I am enjoying shooting par on master difficulty, because I know I can adapt.

online golfing, especially on pc, should never be depending on a simulated mouse movement, which is easy to script. just make it a click-reaction-time based swing and remove all the "precalculating" bullshit. let the players think about all the factors effecting the shot. they dont need more than raw landing zone. i havent played all golfing games out there, but out of 5 or 6, when it comes to gameplay and fun, shot-online was the best, especially multiplayer. unfortunatly before it turned into cashgrab. :(
I would consider using a script cheating since mastering the swing is kinda the point of the game. I ended up buying a better mouse. Getting the settings right (DPI) and shutting off pointer assist and I was able to dial in my swing and make it more consistent. Turning pointer assists off changed the game and those random out of nowhere bad swings were reduced. My DPI was 1200 and I adjusted it to 2400 then practice swings on master. This helped me be far more consistent in Pro mode.
This game is really bad, the swing is completely random making it a useless game, why no 3-click swing option? It seems the Tiger Woods games were the pinnicle of golf games because since then these games have gotten way worse even the graphics are terrible for a 2021 PC game.
Yeah the company that re-uses crowd models and has graphics from 2013 definitely put in the effort to create an anti-cheat... But in all seriousness, there's a lot of people NOT using a script that are complaining about the downswing timing not being accurate.
Why not use tiger woods or rory mcliroy for this test. Why use your low overall created player. idk how the game works but my guess is you start not as good as the best players in the world and make you way up. Consistancy probably matters. Prove me wrong and use an actual pro with this test and see what happens please i want to know
You obviously haven't played the game or know anything about it mate lol. There's no Tiger or Rory, ya can't play as the pros and there's no attribute system, just better clubs.

This was something we knew. I've spent hours using a metronome and cannot get perfect consistently.

The tempo doesnt work. With the same exact speed i had 4 different shot types. very slow to very fast with the SAME exact speed.

Have you tried turning off the enhance pointer precision in your mouse settings, I am pretty sure this is on by default in windows 10.

I did it in 2019 to dial in club distances. It was a perfect swing 100% of the time.
