Hi Dan, great to see that not everyone disses ALDI and Lidl products. Their not meant to be used in building the Forth bridge, just use them as intended and they'll be great for a long time. Thanks for your time and easy way of introducing these products to an ancient modeller.

As a mechanical engineer and toolmaker by trade (30 years) I have this to say about ALDI and Lidl tools,For home and hobby work 80% of their tools are absolutely fine and capable for the price.Would I strip a bus engine or use for precise machining with them?NO, because that's not what they are for. They are for the home user and hobbyist and they do a very good job.Thank you for a great video

I currently move to Cyprus, and I had a hedge over 3 mtrs high and some of the trees was planted 20 years ago. having left behind in England all my gardening equipment I was at a lost to going out and buying new equipment. But Lidl I found a battery operated chainsaw and loppers. I couldn't fault the tool i used job done Thank you Lidl

My own experience of Aldi and Lidl tools over the last 20 years (alongside my professional tools such as HiKoki) is to steer clear of any Aldi own brand - several times I got caught out with items that failed well short of warranty. The Lidl Parkside Tools, on the other hand, are generally very durabIe. I would rate them as the best budget brand - better than Ryobi or Einhell, and a lot cheaper. I have a Parkside SDS drill with clutch and chisel function for heavy work, that cost £40, which I have used for building work for the last 15 years. Apart from replacing a pair of carbon brushes, it has performed as well as my Hitachi SDS drill, which cost 10 times more.

I’ve had various tools from Aldi and I have never had a problem, I’ve had anything from Lidl so don’t know much about the quality of their products but I would assume they are as good. It’s very helpful to have someone like yourself buy these products and show them on here. I hope you keep up the good work with more of these informative videos.

I'm finding these videos very useful. I normally shop at Aldi - but they do not put much emphasis on tools. Lidl is quite a drive for me, but if I see something desirable in their tools range I'll make the effort. I'm a hobbyist woodworker on a budget so it is helpful to find concise reviews from an experienced model maker.

Always worth looking over the DIY section of these stores. I've found Lidl handy for picking up hand tools and sundry parts (file sets, clamps, squares, sets of washers / o-rings / jubilee clips). Parkside power tools look fine for occasional home users if they only need say a drill and jigsaw. If you're going to use cordless tools regularly it's better to invest in a major brand for quality and range (Makita in my case), horses for courses. Less critical choosing corded gear; I bought a Scheppach drill press when it was on offer, and two Parkside wet n dry vacuum cleaners as shop vacs. Long live budget friendly options.
