I've listened to Starman Slaughter more times than I could count, and I know from heart that when the Flying Dry Bones plays his saxophone, the 2nd part had the first few notes from the Overworld theme of Super Mario Bros. in it at the end, which is also a nice nod, even tho Dry Bones didn't appear until SMB3
At the end of It's-A-Me V2 during the intense part with the fire rising in the background, Horror Mario's turn reference's the Starman theme/ Superstar theme.
They also forgot the Mario 1 ground theme references in So Cool and Promotion, the I HATE YOU reference in Alone V2, the Ice Land theme reference in Overdue V2, and the Nutshack theme song references in It's-a Me V2, and both versions of Powerdown.
