I just wanted to say that the blueprint of the tank was perfectly fine its just that the canon of the abrahams tank is just a little bit offset because it is the design. That's why it looks like there is a mistake with the proportions. Some tanks are just built this way
Came in from the reddit post Great work and great tutorial I would love to see your method for creating realistic humans, if you have one. Having difficulty myself. Keep up the great work
Amazing video man! I’ve been using Maya for the past 3 years and was planning on learning blender. Is it possible for you to link where you got these specific blueprints?
Question, How do you make sure all the pictures are aligned? Because everytime I try to make a helicopter or something when I finally get one side then let's say go to the front, it's completely unaligned then when I align the front with a reference image, the side gets unaligned
Blueprints often have this problem, they are not the same in all the different views. I'd recommend either separating the images and scaling them individually until they align or using a different blueprint
The Front of M1 Abrams you design look like K2 Black panther, make it little bit straight or flat also reduce the distance from Driver hatch to Chobam armor.
Shame there aren't good pictures for the project I'm trying to make. I'm trying to set up multiple camera references using fSpy then exporting to Blender, unfortunately the pictures are so bad I can't actually align the axes properly. For the Abrams, though, you can set fSpy and compare if the model sits perfectly on the images.
I am modeling from 1.6 years most of the time i spent time practicing learning Hardsurface by Modeling Cars & Yeah Now I am Pretty Good @ it & making some other objects models but Last Week when i itry to model a tank name as 90 , that tank objects most of the time are box modeling so i found out i pretty suck at it i got Demotivated & you have pretty good skills can you pls make a video or tell here some tips nd advice
I was using something in the ballpark of 2.9 here. Now, I am using 3.0. The differences in modelling are marginal, you can use any version of blender for that.
@@ArijanRace How do you go towards doing that? I am following your tutorial right now (amazing btw) but I fear many game engines are unoptimized for such a model. Do you just slap on ProOptimizer? Do you have any specific techniques?
@@NamLe-jq3oq Thanks for the comment. The main problem is that there is a very high polygon count (901k vertices was the final count here). I would simply redo some of the polygon dense objects such as the tracks and make them much more simple. This model is also untextured (though I do plan to texture it) so I would replace some details with normal mapped textures. Perhaps I could make a video on how I would prepare this model for a video game sometime.
Shift + A, Image, Reference. Then just open your blueprint image. You can get those by just googling something like "M1 Abrams Blueprint". Then just put them in the background so that when you go to side view you can work with them. Hope that helps a little
By "through the 3d cursor", I meant by using the 3d cursor as a pivot point. You can set the pivot point to the 3d cursor in the little menu above the 3d workspace, and that way when you scale/rotate the object/mesh it will move in relation to the 3d cursor. I hope that helps!
@@ArijanRace I searched it up and saw a video but it when I scale it doesn’t want to move lol. No worries I’ll figure it out. Thanks anyway great video aswell.
i haven't even finished modelling a donut yet but I'm already looking forward into making a tank model in Blender

I've noticed this about the Abrams too, but most blueprints are actually disproportionate from different angles.
Arijan is back
lots of the time with tanks, their turrets are off to one side a bit - maybe this sometimes makes the blueprints feel off

Unfortunately I have no experience with organic modeling, that would be a huge challenge for me. Maybe in the future?
Thanks for the support!

I added the blueprint to the description. I inverted the colors and cut it into multiple pictures. Thanks!
@@ArijanRace Thanks a lot!
Very great tutorial! Great job not taking a minute to explain every little detail and how it was accomplished.
Can you put multiple video tuts in a playlist? Also, awesome.
Awesome!!!
Wow, it's been a while
Can u explain how you model a headlight?im not understand how you join the vertex after deleting polygons . thank u

wait how to trace? i dont understand clearly tho.
good tutorial, I make a a7v
Great tutorial, but tell me how did you took an approach to start this model?
Hey Bro Wanna Ask , If i Rig the Tank By Using Your Chapter Video on It , Does it Be Ready for a Game Engine like unity etc

Hi can you show me how to select the main part of the tank
i dont understand how you 'trace around the blueprint' what tool are you using?????

How did you orgernize the path in to bleander
what version of blender do you use arijan? Or from which version do you recommend to design tanks or cars?

yay!
Hi can you help me with building this tank
Can I get the ready to print version
Unfortunately no such version exists at this point
how did you orerzine your photo
Is this optimized for games?
No, but with a bit of work it could be.
@@ArijanRace thx

Hi how much mermroy does it use
Wow..
i cant put in the blueprint
Hi can you show me how to set up photo file for projeact
I would like to know how to set up this in blender 2.9
I have a short tutorial on how to set up blueprints and reference images, I think that will help!
How to organise
I dont really understand how to use the blueprints

@@ArijanRace and how do I adjust them to be proportional and in the right place?
bro its hard to follow for new people, unless you provide step by step. I don't get how you brought the vertices in the begining 3:34. Too fast paced
7:40 How are you scaling it through 3d cursor

good tutorial, I make a a7v
awesome, let me know if you need any tips!
