    Funny how they had a Turkish Cypriot speak for the report and not any Greek Cypriot to give the other side.

    Turkey and UK are benefiting by having Cyprus divided. 🇨🇾 A united Cyprus means the british bases, UN and turkish army will have to leave an island with a strategic location.

    Why don't you clarify the "conflict" in your opening line as an invasion. If they wish to open it to the international community as stated, you already have private ownership of the properties who have been refrained from returning to their properties.

    It is not a political issue. The ghost town should be returned to its lawfull inhabitants as stipulated by United Nations Security Council Resolution 550 and Turkey should stop violating basic human rights and return peoples homes.

      Greek Cypriots want to unite the country as it was before the war in 1974. Greeks Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots living together as one country. With any illegal settlers that came to the north after the war to return to Turkey. Turkey offered Ammohostos back but wanted to keep the island devided and keep itsarmy in Cyprus. Every plan of unification since 1974 till today has been rejected by greeks as it was unfair to the Greek side. Taking back Ammohostos would not sole the divided island.

      @@rafidalmayyhi3440 ok but as it seems right now taking back Famagusta would be the best the Greek Cypriots could get,isn't it? Anyway the Turks will not agree to unite the island so taking back a beautiful city with beautiful seaside for sure would be better than nothing...i guess right now its too late and Turks will not offer it anymore...

    Misleading report, the occupied Varoshia /Famagusta was NOT abandoned by the Greek Cypriots, but were forced to flee to save their lives, trying to escape the civilian bombing and barbarian atrocities carried out by the invading Turkish army, on the civilian population...;

    Usual carefully worded Greek Cypriot sided propaganda….one way street now of 2 separate states!
    But of course the uk gov doesn’t want to step on Greek Cypriot led southern toes as we all know the so called ‘Sovereign Base areas’ are the main concern for UK.
    UK gov doesn’t want a 50’s style war against the uk and their prized jewel in their crown!!!!
    Recognition of the

    Cyprus will stay divided.
    Two different people two languages two religions its impossible to have one country.

    Race riots quickly brought the border back

      You are totally mistaken. Tell me a place in any developed country in the world that doesn't have many cultures and languages and religions... e.g. London, Berlin, Rome etc etc.
      This is a big excuse for Turkey and UK for holding Cyprus divided. 🇨🇾 A united Cyprus means there are no more british bases, UN, turkish army.
