I’ve been seeing so many Palworld vids talking about the same tips and tricks over and over again, it’s nice to finally see a video showcasing a brand new tech that’s actually super useful! Well done
Thank you for finding this. I've been trying to down for a while now and it hasn't worked well. Thing is, it shouldn't take a "trick" to attach a foundation to a downward build.
Hey, I was having fun with this tip you taught me and I discovered something you should check out. Have fun with it! I have a ranch under my foundations by placing the ranch, then placing raised foundations over top of it. There is one little tile that cant be placed due to "touching grass" reasons, but a quick wall then a "roof" tile in lieu of floor, and voila! Functional ranch invisible underneath the foundation. I don't know what that's going to do to pal pathing, but I throw a feed-bin in each ranch/cake-pen anyway. So long as you can still access the feed-bin, it should be mostly ok! Biggest con in my opinion is the random "load-bearing" wall needed in the middle of the floor to accommodate the roof-tile floor, but if you can go limp-wristed long enough to do some interior design, it can work out rather nicely. Credit goes where it usually belongs: Accident, entirely and unintentionally. I had a "Eureka!" moment and recognized what I had done temporarily (mid-project) and took note before destroying it (aforementioned ulterior motives in play.) My elevated paradise at (303,-37) is almost complete... Nearby coal, lots of ore, absolutely beautiful terrain!
@@priqe Great! I got a mod for assigning duties. They hang out on the foundations above the ranch and the sweet lewt doesn't glitch out or fall through the tile for me. I'm cooking up some blueprints for my next build... It may be simple, but I love exploring mechanics within games.
Good video well described. Its the method I used to build my 3rd base, messing around one day on my temp 3rd base. The copper/coal spot - But not the usual one (I already based that!), No this spot is to the south east on a mountain that forms an arch (in fact it is visible from the usual ore/coal spot), The palbox does not extend infinitely down , if placed on the arch then the base perimeter only extends as far down as the ground. If the palbox is placed below the arch (on the ground ground) then you can build up, but at over 70 levels high the pals are not efficient at mining - So I set the world decay to 0 (cheater, I hear you cry) , put the palbox on the ground above the arch and built up from the ground ground to support the base at the mountain top, Because of the uneven terrain below the palbox , I can build about 6-8 levels below the mountain ground level (confused? not as much as me building it!!) . still a wip but getting there. One thing you could of mentioned is that the pals actually see this as a path, I built a big main staircase using normal method, and a back passage using the block technique and all the pals I've tested use the smaller block staircase (because it is a more direct route). EDIT: I've seen a few comments about aligning being a pain. what I sometimes/often do is to build a raised foundation off to one side (not too close that the piece your trying to place locks on to the new piece) and I stand on this platform to get a better view (more for height adjustment )
This is great, but at first viewing I missed something. This method gets things close enough for wall pieces that connect to the lower foundation to also connect to the upper foundation, and this connection is needed for the foundations to be considered the same structure. That connection is needed to allow ceiling tiles built on one foundation to receive support from the other. These walls must NOT be removed or the connection between foundations will break. So if you want everything made of stone, then the walls must be stone when you make the connection. Also, on my system (PC with KBD and mouse) when I went into disassembly mode those doubly connected walls didn't highlight. That seems like an easy way to check if the walls are doubly connected.
Good tips, I can probably find some way to take advantage of this. Here's some tips in return, for building straight in relation to a given structure. Set mouse sensitivity to 0.4, and walk up against a side wall while turning with your character, there is a 'scuff' sound effect that plays when your character stops moving, if you can get that to happen your camera is now facing perfectly parallel with that wall, then you can build whatever you want at that angle, just be careful not to move the mouse again until you're done. A program like Mouse Keys can make it easier to get to this point by letting you use keyboard to point mouse, but it can still be done without.
Yeah this is amazing, nice find! They ought to just allow us to attach walls to the side of foundations and snap foundations to ceilings and vice versa.
Props to you priqe!!! You are a scholar and a gentleman!! You just changed the base building game in pal world, this was an issue I encountered on day 1 but for multiplayer sake decided staring at a wall all day was something I should do in free time. looking forward to future content
My man. The GOATED reverse engineer again 🫡 I think ill be driven insanely mad by the time ive rebuilt my burnt down early game cliff base ive been putting off cus ive no idea how i managed to do it on first try. Dancing mad but ecstatic. The long road lies ahead!
First of all, INCREDIBLE find. If I can stretch foundation tiles at the base of a very tall, narrow mountain with an uneven bottom, I'll need only a single pillar to support an entire roof, and that's exactly what I need to do for the giant archway cliff, since it's one of only two locations in the game with copper and coal CLUSTERS that are close enough together to be contained in one palbox. Only, I'm just not able to do it. How difficult does this tend to be to execute? Maybe it's the editing, but between comments from others who discovered this accidentally and your video, it seems pretty doable. I think I'm following your steps precisely, and I've gotten a visually perfect alignment at all three vertices multiple times, but none of the sides ever stick and I can never actually extend ceiling over these blocks. I've even tried surrounding my walls with roof on the outside to force the foundation to only highlight at a very specific alignment, and I've tried several times without that in case that was the problem. I'm usually very good with these things. Could a recent patch have broken this? Does it maybe not work on console? Anyone else absolutely not able to make this happen?
Back to say I got it working! I needed to have it slightly lower than visually perfect because I also had roof tiles surrounding it. Turns out getting it "just right" every time was hurting me!
@priqe My dude. It's been a few days and I have done this a good 6 or 7 times to one interconnected structure while trying to protect my precious pillars from beegardes at the giant archway cliff with ore and coal 😂 The goal is to neighbor two bases, one for mining and one for farming on what is usually very hosile terrain. I am now at the point where I've got build surface under nearly all of my base in a very graded area, and the trick is making it look good while still letting the mountain shine through! I'm even clipping into the mountain when possible to "hide" some of my supports! I live for these challenges and the knowledge in this video alone has sapped away any feeling of burnout I was previously feeling! I can't wait to get the framework complete and really start decorating whatever this is becoming. Suffice to say, i am obsessed with this method. I've learned that if I get something "close enough" but it doesn't connect, sometimes I can build out or adjacent by one or two squares and get it to connect to an adjacent block, instead. In this way, you can actually take advantage of the fact they veer off. But the more comfortable I become doing this, the more often I catch myself willing to sacrifice a connection to get a better looking alignment. It seems so hard at first, but once you get a feel for what the game is looking for, you can really play around with it!!
I have watched probably three hours worth of videos to try and find this video. Thank you! Thank you! The building is killing this game for me, I have hope now😁
Nice one! I think you should put your description in the title. Seems like that would catch more attention since it's factually gamechanging. Everyone says Advanced XYZ tip these days, but this one legit is.
Thats great thing it should be included in the game to connect roofs with foundations on different levels of base, because then you don't have to look for perfectly flat place to set up base.
I will be using this for sure… I wish there was a way to line up perfectly to your structure. For example on ark you can place a ladder on the edge of the foundation, jump on the ladder and jump off and you will be perfectly parallel to building.. we need something like that.
Set mouse sensitivity to 0.4, and walk up against a side wall while turning with your character, there is a 'scuff' sound effect that plays when your character stops moving, if you can get that to happen and your camera doesn't appear to be moving at all, your camera is now facing perfectly parallel with that wall. Then you can build whatever you want at that angle, just be careful not to move the mouse again until you're done (outside of the building menu where you can use mouse and also move without changing where you're facing). A program like Mouse Keys can make it easier to get to this point by letting you use keyboard to point mouse, but it can still be done without.
@@LibraritheWizardOfficialAny tips for compass aligning? I know flying mounts always face North while descending but I don't know of a way to actually use that.
@@KnownAsKenji I just always face exactly N/S/E/W when placing foundations. That way, I can align any furniture the same way, as well as (with this new trick especially) lining up new foundations that aren't being built directly next to old ones.

The way I figured out to line up stairs to the bottom of the foundation, you build a stair going up over the foundation, walk up the stairs and look down, and there's a slim angle you can build a downward stairs, once you get far enough and high enough away, it should work... it is inconvenient but it does make an attached stair through the terrain
Used to do this sorta thing in ark to double up foundations. One tip i can say is if you can (for bridges) start at your lowest point first! Easier to build up rather then down i find
Yeah I have come to find recently that down to up is usually much easier in pretty much building anything, especially stairs. sometimes building from top down the stair will connect to the floor piece instead of the other stair so when you go to delete them.. uh it all comes down with it 💀
All this game needs building wise is being able to snap foundations to stairs , and ceilings . Triangles would be nice but just being able to transfer the snap point is crucial
@@priqe your tip got some pretty dope bases started for me but let me tell you it’s embarrassing how long it took me to force the snap lol. I must have spent an hour trying and demoing 🤣
@@HandsOfSt0nedhellll yeaa we love the update and yeah it can take a while but once you get it down you can start gettin it connected after 2/3 tries 🙏
I really wish the devs would just make the foundations snap to the bottom of walls, or walls snap to the side of foundations down as well as up. If that were the case, building would be so much mor enjoyable, than agonizing over the precision of foundation placement
Man, i wish i knew this kinda thing when i was building my mega quarry, maybe it'd have less holes in it. Lovely tutorial, and for once a clickbait title lives up to its name. Just when i was thinking of making my new base as well!
@PRIQE!! !!! You can make raider encampments disappear!!!! I just figured it out by accident, I defeated it and wanted to build on it to have my bases closer together and after trying to figure out where I wanted to place the Pal Box, the encampment just DISAPPEARED!! brooo this is gaming changing!!
Sure would be nice if they just allowed foundations to snap to the bottom of walls. I did discover you can snap a foundation to the bottom of a foundation if it's sticking out the side of a hill though
Wouldn't it be rather simple, if PocketPair added extra sockets to foundations, foundation stacking up and down and glueing walls on foundation sides? Ark and Conan "Structure Plus" mod springs to mind, but then a lot of headache could be done away with if the devs added all these features to the base game.
Lol I wanna play Zoe so bad I wish it was like a costume or something or at this point if they let mods come to Xbox I think that’s cool that people are able to play as her
I'm not entirely sure for what the utilization of this building technique is for but I appreciate your effort and the length of the video nonetheless. Have you learned how to put a slanted roof on top of stairs yet? My base has walls that instead of being the flat up and down are slanted roof to stairs to slanted roof to stairs to slanted roof to stairs
you can force a connection between foundations at different heights so you can continue supporting whatever is above. Like if I build off of a cliff, I can only go 2 pieces away from the last foundation. But if you connect that last foundation to one below the cliff you can keep building. If you were to just place a foundation down there it wont provide any support for above!
@@priqe oh duh wow I'm so slow that hella useful for what you described. I made my base south of where Frost stallion is. My whole circle is nice and level. Working on a castle.
The camera is extremely annoying when trying to line up the foundation with the walls... the UI itself can even get in the way. The camera really needs to be detached from the player character when building.
yo i have a better way to do this. i had a similar issue while building and i also figured out the wall inside foundation thing but how i do it is i build the foundation then i put a wall on it and then a roof on the same side as the wall even with the foundation then you make sure that the wall has some other support by adding any extra walls/roofs you need then you remove the foundation then you put your walls down and replace the foundation this gives the exact same effect as you have but its 100% aliened as you are only building off of snap points. you can also use the to shove walls into foundation floors for design and protection (stronger base of building)
Hey, I've got a question. So, if there's no height limit on building, why not just go through the map, fall off, and build loads of foundations underneath? Then, we could just bring those buildings up and have no restrictions on building.
Can someone kindly explain the use case for this? I've done some building, but nothing too complicated. Is the only purpose that you can extend the roof pieces one extra piece or is there more to it?
You can extend them by more than one extra piece. Before, you were limited to the build area 2 spaces away from where your foundations could be built. Changes in elevation would eventually stop you from placing foundations at all (see especially: the copper/coal plateau's uneven terrain). By linking foundations at different elevations together, bases, bridges, and more can be expanded in remarkable ways!
@@LibraritheWizardOfficial Thank you! Ok, that makes sense now. I couldn't picture how it would work at the mining plateau, but I see now. This could be great for console players or those without mods to take advantage of space at the 3 bases we have. Someone could create a mega build with enough patience too. Super cool
@@LibraritheWizardOfficialThat being said, you can build upper stories that completely cover the entire base area without multiple levels of foundations at that location. I've had my base set up that way for a while and the pals are able to get to ore and coal and back without problems. Took me forever to learn exactly how the construction support rules worked to actually get it right, though.
Would this make you selfish (adck) for not sharing with others what you learned on day 2? Or you really expect us to believe you just thought everyone knew about it?

Okay, but what do I do with this information (for real, I'm not mocking, I'm just dumb)? How does this get utilized in base building? I know you showed you could extend the ledges, but you could do the same thing by just sticking a foundation flat on the ground
say you build a foundation at the very edge of a cliff, plateau or similar geography etc. If I want to build off of the cliff, I can only do so for 2 builds/pieces whatever u wanna call them, before you run out of support for more structures. Basically I can only have two flat roofs physically hanging off of the cliff. But with this you can force a foundation at the BOTTOM of the cliff to be connected (key word) to a foundation at the TOP of the cliff. Which means you can keep adding addition support to those, previously only 2, flat roofs. We are able to extend the structural support of whatever through various terrain. If you were to just place a foundation at the bottom of the cliff, it wont add any support. This isn’t the only use case for this, but just the easiest example to use to explain.
@@priqeAh, okay! I get it now, thank you. Now that I think about it, I tend to avoid building in places with cliffs because of stuff like that, so this is actually really good. Thank you for taking the time to explain it

I really wish the devs would just make the foundations snap to the bottom of walls, or walls snap to the side of foundations down as well as up. If that were the case, building would be so much mor enjoyable, than agonizing over the precision of foundation placement
I agree 100% LOL
oh shit bro i didnt know you got the tech like that 😳😳
😏😏😏
Man, i wish i knew this kinda thing when i was building my mega quarry, maybe it'd have less holes in it. Lovely tutorial, and for once a clickbait title lives up to its name. Just when i was thinking of making my new base as well!
‘preciate the kind words 🙏🏼 and for real but I guess better late than never 😂😂
This is exactly the tech I needed, thank you so much
Being able to maintain stability while changing altitude is huge!
absolutely!! takes building up 1000% 🙏🏼
I nominate this be called: The Priqe Wall (also funnily sounds like Prequel)
lmao I like it
love it 😂
now we can build better places, nice
😎
@@priqe actually I think this will resonate on Palworld team and they will release a "block foundation" you bet
Awesome, gotta rebuild everything now 🫠
dont worry I got the HGTV hook ups for you 😂
found out about this the hard way when i destroyed a raised foundation and half my base roof broke with it. I was so confused
hahaha one of those moments where u just freeze trying to figure out what happened 😂
@@priqeI've seen multiple streamers do it, it's the exact same reaction lol
Editing is peak here lmao I love it
@PRIQE!! !!! You can make raider encampments disappear!!!! I just figured it out by accident, I defeated it and wanted to build on it to have my bases closer together and after trying to figure out where I wanted to place the Pal Box, the encampment just DISAPPEARED!! brooo this is gaming changing!!
oh thats amazing!!
Sure would be nice if they just allowed foundations to snap to the bottom of walls. I did discover you can snap a foundation to the bottom of a foundation if it's sticking out the side of a hill though
I agree 100% lmao and ohhhh thats sick!! nice find!
Pro gamer, my hat off to you sir!
Thats is an amazing tip!! Thank you.
no problem boss 🤝
Someone get this man a Medal…
As his father, and someone who is proud of him, a medal on his desk sounds great. 😉
Wouldn't it be rather simple, if PocketPair added extra sockets to foundations, foundation stacking up and down and glueing walls on foundation sides?
Ark and Conan "Structure Plus" mod springs to mind, but then a lot of headache could be done away with if the devs added all these features to the base game.
would be nice for sure 😅
Subscribed man!
I appreciate that boss man 🙏🏼
thanks for sharing this method 😃
any time 🫡
Nice. Thanks for sharing m8.
np man! 🤝
Your editing is terrific😂
thank you 😂 my brain is expanding fr
I like it because too many creators make everything look so easy; this video shows the real difficulty😊 Don't be too hard on yourself☺
Sweet ! thanks!
no problem 👊🏼
I did this by accident afew times cause uneven ground it's great at making things look clean
Your a hero❤
i appreciate that😭🙏🏼
@@priqe ❤️
That is sick and should solve many problems!
hell yea!!
U earned a sub, thx for the content.❤
thank you for the kind comment! 🤝
Great video, should help when building bases but there is ore on the ground floor. Feel the pain. great work though
for sure! and thank you kindly 🫡
this is huge
for real!!
What ive been looking for thank you
np, thank you for the comment! 🤝
YAS BOO PERIOD!
💅🏻
I feel like I might have done this once on accident. Either way, I've been trying to do exactly this for a long time.
super useful!
Lol I wanna play Zoe so bad I wish it was like a costume or something or at this point if they let mods come to Xbox I think that’s cool that people are able to play as her
yeah its a bummer you can’t mod on console 😞
Bro just discovered super glue
im comin for gorilla glues IP 🤫
They really need to add foundations to be taller and snap to existing objects, this should be a feature not a bug.
yeah I hope they start expanding on building in updates soon
Noticed your sub count as well, that won't do, I went ahead and subscribed. Hopefully soon enough you will be able to monetize your videos!
thank you very much! appreciate that a bunch 👊🏼🤝
wow what a real one :’)
big Ws
thanks bingus 😎
Nice one !
‘preciate it!
I wish the building mechanics were easier. It's just so difficult to build something decent if it's not perfectly flat.
yeah I agree, feels limited, but i am a believer they will adjust and make better in time 😂😭
Slanted roofs are a nightmare
Edits are awesome
I appreciate that a ton! 👊🏼
Just let them hire you
i wish 😂😂
It’s sort of maddening that enshrouded has building mechanics in desperate to have in palworld
oh god if enshrouded building came to Palworld i would DIE lmao
Seems like the current version of Conan Exiles has pretty great building mechanics, too.
and in the current day a feature has been added, where we can now snap the foundations to other structure pieces.
I knew you can do that but aligning it such a pain. I made a multistory base near the chillet boss across the bridge.
hell yea! and for sure lmao the one “bridge” in the video is like a whole foundation off the side at the end of it 😂😂😂
gaming engineers and I thought I was smart because I can build a game like palworld
I stumbled upon this a while ago its really hard to line up the roof to structures
yeah for real that long bridge in the video is like a whole foundation off to the side towards the end LMAO 😂
yo i have a better way to do this. i had a similar issue while building and i also figured out the wall inside foundation thing but how i do it is i build the foundation then i put a wall on it and then a roof on the same side as the wall even with the foundation then you make sure that the wall has some other support by adding any extra walls/roofs you need then you remove the foundation then you put your walls down and replace the foundation this gives the exact same effect as you have but its 100% aliened as you are only building off of snap points. you can also use the to shove walls into foundation floors for design and protection (stronger base of building)
How have you personalized your character this way? Specifically two tone long hair and the black outfit?
That's Zoe, the first tower boss. It's a mod.
its a visual mod yea, you can find it on nexusmods
good vid mate
‘preciate that boss
It makes no sense that just building 1 "level" up and down is so stupidly hard
Please give us for foundation snap!!!
Hey, I've got a question. So, if there's no height limit on building, why not just go through the map, fall off, and build loads of foundations underneath? Then, we could just bring those buildings up and have no restrictions on building.
LMAOOOO oh god palpagos is about to get Under the Dome’d 😭😭
Love it.
thank you!
Nize
🫡
i always hate that foundation is not allowing walls around the base... but allow stairs...
yeah that is a bit strange 🤔
How does your character look just like one of the bosses in the game?
its a visual mod
maybe I missed it but how do you get that skin on your character?
its a visual mod I found on nexusmods
I will try this to build a bridge i hopw it work.
i believe in u 🙏🏼
Bro how did u get that hair and outfit
He use cheat
I was wondering the same thing
It's a mod, a visual mod, that's not cheating, however this one will make other people in multiplayer look like Zoe too so it sucks
Nexus mods
yeah its just a visual mod on nexus mods
I figured this out myself on day 2, I assumed everyone else would have discovered it as well.
Would this make you selfish (adck) for not sharing with others what you learned on day 2? Or you really expect us to believe you just thought everyone knew about it?
@@Chewy_GarageBandDad I have a lot of self doubt and anxiety so I rarely consider the possibility that i have something worthwhile to contribute, I genuinely thought it was something other people would have discovered on their own.
@@maurylehane5059 Well now dont I just feel like an azz. Ok, I shall let you off the hook as long as you remember...you always have something worthwhile to contribute. Fellowship daily.. Now Im off to flog myself.
@@Chewy_GarageBandDadPlease do not feel bad, I re read my first post and it does sort of come across as me intentionally trying to be rude, it was not my intent but I understand the response
@@maurylehane5059 You're too kind. I work with people with MH disabilities/issues so, its safe to say there is a place in my heart..
Journey well my friend.
Thank you for taking the time to explain it
I feel that lmao and np glad to help 🙏🏼
