We moved into the shipping containers this past summer, so we have had a lot of time to use the kitchen and see where it needed improvements. One of the big things that so many of you suggested is that we create some folding table set up to comfortably share meals together. Well... we finally did it!! That along with a new light fixture, some plumbing issues, and a new and improved composting toilet setup.
Tiny spaces really do push you to be creative with your design and never stop tinkering so that they function at their best!
Hope you enjoy this one :)
    Big love,
    Dana, Lou, Max & Freja

Love how you can read Freya and how she barks and her stance, fascinating. Love the little table. Maybe make storage blocks and use them as little seats/stools. The lights will defo help cooking. It's the little things that makes a big difference. Have you thought about an outside toilet? Maybe between units? Might be easier to clean, plus more space in the kitchen . You guys are so talented ❤

  • @SherryAnnOfTheWest

My only suggestion or "criticism" would be to make all the surfaces around the composting toilet very easily "wipe downable." Maybe some tile or a really heavy-duty, marine paint or something. Also, isn't the set-back a little big? I think the bucket toilet being closer to the front edge would be more comfortable, especially for little Max.

Nice work Lou! Criticism ahead… I hate to be a Debbie Downer but having experienced a TBI myself that table scares the crap out of me. It should swing down but I realize the design doesn’t account for that without a hinge halfway across. However if it fell on one of y’all’s heads it would not be good at all. At the very least please consider adding a more fail safe attachment at the top so there are no accidents.

Hello dear family 🥰 It is so beautiful Lou, how you express the value of mis-takes and the wonderful workings of your optimism. 😃 By understanding ourselves and how things work and accepting that, we can have such rich and fulfilling experiences. Knowing the value of things that are taking much more time than expected (by the mind) we can see through the illusion of time and 'lack' of time. 🙂
Dana, I love your ever so grateful spirit. And because you genuinely are, it reaches so many hearts and inspires us to look for the Grateful Spirit in ourselves. 💖
Max is growing up and developing so beautifully and you both as parents as well. A delight to watch. 🥰
Amazing how Freja expresses the different potential threats with a variety of barks. And that you guys learned to 'read' that. 🐕
Enjoy all the improvements! Much love and warm embrace 💜💙💚💛🧡❤
