I still think dean is right in this scene because even though he had a chance at living a normal life, it was forced onto him and he had to do it right after he saw the one person he loved more than anyone else in the world die right in front of him. However, the fact that Bobby and Sam both wanted Dean to have a normal life shows how much better they are than John
Of course he's right. They seriously expected him to get over the fact that his brother was in hell suffering and just go on living a life he never chosen? One doesn't ever get over something like that. Especially not Dean who basically spent his whole life trying to protect said brother, even went to hell for 40y for it.
Dean's wrong. These were likely the best times of his life. He's destined to die on the hunt, no family, no life, no friends. The show ended recently and we've seen "the end", all arguments about that particular fate aside - Dean's been on a suicide run forever. He was always heading headlong into the pit. Always. A desperate attempt to stop him that actually worked? Can't mess with that. Dean's life is important - but Sam holding Lucifer in the pit was the only thing that could've kept Dean happy. Keeping a promise. A principle. Happy's not the right word - free is. Free from himself. Free from the rules he so cherished. Dean's entire life was forced on him, and he took it up willingly - so the only way to get him to actually live it again was to take it away from him. And he got just a tiny bit of living in before hitting the road again. It was only a year or so. Probably the only time he got to develop a soul. Peak into the window of the houses of people he's saved. Sure, they got sucked into the life - but so does everyone. Hunting isn't the inevitable noose everyone hangs themselves with - it's monstrosity. It's everywhere. The show is full of innocent victims. It's not the hunter life they lead that kills them, it's the thousands of roaming lunatics and creatures. Life's a meat grinder. This was a short, desperately short time where Dean was forced to save himself for a while. Just a little while. To let somebody else save him. It didn't last because Dean wouldn't let it last, even if what had happened hadn't happened, Dean would've found a way to mess it up. He let that darkness in a long time ago. Nobody is wrong here, everyone's just trying to live and let live.

I get your point, and you have kinda right, but you have to understand that they (at least bobby) wanted the best for dean. Dean lost his father and blamed himself for his death and runs every day the guilt that his father gets tortured in hell because of him. His brother died in front of his eyes. He got tortured for 30 years straight, and they did horrible things to him that we can not even imagine. He tortured souls for 10 years, and then he finally got saved from castiel but kept his memories from hell. Without having a real break from all of this, he was forced to work for the Angels and was worried about sam. He tried his very best to save his brother, but he got brutally beaten by him. His brother broke his heart by putting a demon over him. The one who sacrificed his whole childhood and life for his little brother. Then the angels tried to break him to make him say yes to Michael. They almost broke him, and Cas beat the shit out of him. Later, he got brutally beaten by lucifer and lost his brother right in front of his eyes. Since season 2, this man has been depressive and never had a single break. They just (Bobby at least) wanted to give him a break. He endured more than humans could take, and he always kept fighting. That "Of course I didn't leave it alone, SUE ME!" Is actually quite funny put it in any other context, but that aside this scene is so sad since Dean isn't exactly one to be able to leave the Hunter life...
The moment Dean was seriously considering Ben might be his son, it was obvious he had the ability to leave. The setup was so perfect. It's crazy how from the first ep of the non-Kripke they screw up the characters. Dean as hunter is a family thing. Because Adam's not really their brother, even though he is by blood. Adam said that himself. But that's the whole point of this show, family doesn't begin or end by blood. Jack was much more a Winchester than Adam ever was.

I really like this fact😂but Bobby was totally wrong in here!well,he learnt that in a hard way in 6x11
why is he wrong, because he wanted the best for him ? Did you forget what happened to dean in season 1-5 ? Did you forget how depressive he was ? He was dead inside. This live broked him. A hell hound ripped off his guts, and he was 40 years in hell. He never had a break, and he needed a break. Bobby gave him the break. I know dean suffered a whole year, but that is normal. Someday, he will get over it and keeps living. He lost his mother and his father and got over it after a long time. Bobby just wanted the best for him because this guy had never had in his life a break. Always watching over sam and lost his childhood, hunting monsters all the time, got tortured in hell, had to work for the Angel's and later he had Lucifer as his enemy and you saying bobby in the wrong, just because he gave him a break and wished for him a normal life.
When Dean asks Bobby how long and Bobby responds with all year I think back to when Dean sold his soul and Bobby asks how long they gave him and he says 1 year
Of course I didn’t leave it alone sue me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
dean: you knew you knew sam was alive bobby: yeah dean: how long bobby: look "yells at him" dean: HOW LONG bobby: all year dean: you gotta be kidding me bobby: and i'd do it again dean: WHY bobby: because you got out dean you walked away from the life and i was so damn grateful you have no idea dean: do you have any idea what walking away meant for me bobby: yeah a woman and a kid and not getting your guts ripped out at age 30 that's what it meant dean: that woman and that kid i went to them because you asked me to "points to sam" bobby: good dean: good for who i showed up on their doorstep half out of my head with grief god knows why they even let me in i drank too much i had nightmares i looked everywhere i collected hundreds of books trying to find anything to bust you out "he points to sam" sam: you promised you'd leave it alone dean: of course i didn't leave it alone sue me a damn year you couldn't put me out of my misery bobby: look i get it wasn't easy but that's life and it's as close to happiness as i've ever seen a hunter get it ain't like i wanted to lie to you son but you were out dean dean: do i look out to you.
That "Of course I didn't leave it alone, SUE ME!" Is actually quite funny put it in any other context, but that aside this scene is so sad since Dean isn't exactly one to be able to leave the Hunter life...
1:46-1:48🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭
Always hated that bobby died.
Wait one dam minute where Adam John Mary and Henry
Watch the whole series
Of Course I didn't leave it alone SUE ME
Bobby😪😌
Gotta love Bobby
Bobby was in the wrong. He meant well, but he should have known better.
The moment Dean was seriously considering Ben might be his son, it was obvious he had the ability to leave. The setup was so perfect. It's crazy how from the first ep of the non-Kripke they screw up the characters. Dean as hunter is a family thing. They moment they made him so obsessed with it he couldn't be happy with the only woman we saw him care about and her kid who he also cared about, the show was doomed to never progress anywhere.
No one mentioned Adam
Because Adam's not really their brother, even though he is by blood. Adam said that himself. But that's the whole point of this show, family doesn't begin or end by blood. Jack was much more a Winchester than Adam ever was.
@@twoshakesofaratsass4748 If Adam had that chance, he'd made an awesome brother.
not Bobby's best decision, that's for sure...
But dean finally got out got family and job
While his brother was in hell? Yeah, I'm sure every day he lived was torture in this year.

Sorry but this was not ok for Bobby to do. It should have been dean’s choice if he wanted to stay out of hunting. And Bobby HAD to know Dean couldn’t be happy if Sam was dead. Only 4 years earlier he sold his soul to bring Sam back. How’d he know Dean wouldn’t do some suicidal crap like that again.
In this situation, any choice any one of them made was going to be wrong.
@@margaretgarside5617 the best choice would have been to be honest with Dean that Sam was back and let Dean make his own, informed choice. He’s an adult, it wasn’t right to hide it and let him think his brother was dead. Bobby knew how much losing Sam destroyed him.
Dean was so ungrateful for what bobby and souless sam did for him, he never appreciated they're efforts to keep him safe so he could finally have some type of normal life which is what he wanted
I mean who are they to judge what his happiness is? It's a choice you make for yourself. Dean living a normal quiet life while he his brother that he went to hell for is stuck and being tortured for eternity by angels? Like hell he would have been happy there. Soulless Sam I understand, but Bobby's decision was just as soulless and stupid af.
Like cas said 'to you want freedom or peace?' Dean would have chosen freedom over peace if it meant being with Sammy. Bobby chose to force peace on Dean even if it meant taking away some of his freedom.
was it Bobby's or Sam's business that what was Dean's happiness?Dean did wanted a normal life but not like this, his imagination of a free normal guy was different as it was shown in later seasons!did Sam or Bobby even asked?Sam was soulless so it doesn't really matter but wouldn't change the fact that he forced his own version of normal life on Dean!and it wasn't Bobby's choice either!considering in E4 of S6 he tells lashes out and says"Crowley has my soul and you don't help me!"Dude!you hided the truth from Dean for a whole year by excusing"you got out!"by knowing that you're soul is not safe!

@@altinaykor364 some people don't know what best for them and the choice has to be made for them
This is what you get when Kripke is not running the show. It makes absolutely no sense and Bobby we knew would never conceal that.
I got out now where am I now.. and what's wrong with Marc and my mommy.
