17 grand + ZRX + tech and fabrication savvy 2nd to none = a smokin beauty of a bike that has some soul…that doesn’t look like a universal egg bike. Winner winner chicken dinner. I can already see the greasy black streaks on corner exits. 😊
Your work and parts are excellent! I will commission a build from you soon. I've had my zrx1100 for 22 years and love it just as much as the day I bought it. It would be so nice to do a build on it like this.
Love it, currently have a 96 ZX11 and thinking of going further into it with some custom parts, those are the exact wheels I wanted to buy as well. Great job on this one, well done!!
If I'm not mistaken that end can is manufactured by U-CP, it has a 60mm inlet and I believe the mid pipe has been flared to match. Check out Brian Wells youtubbe channel and you'll see one fitted to one of his builds. As for why I know, I sent Brian the link to the end can as not only does it suit the REX, its also only about £100 delivered to the UK from Japan. Ladybird style, without the price.
Love your work as much as I love the mighty ZRX. Over the years I have owned a 1984 Z1100R (yes I wish I still had it sitting in my garage) a ZRX1100 and two ZRX1200R's. Currently I have an all original 2007 ZRX1200R awaiting a full restoration after years of been partialy exposed to all weathers while parked underneath a high set house. I was just wondering why your customers who use their bikes on the street and not just track days opt for bell mouths instead of pod filters?
Very nice indeed,,why the difference in m/cylinder bore sizes for clutch and brake ie 16 and 19,,those 6 pot front brakes really respond to the rcs19 I am told ..
Owned a 1100 back in the day .Really nice work front to back . Do you dyno each build when it's done ? What's typical HP / Torque numbers for this combination of parts ?
We have a number of different engine configurations for street and track so the numbers vary greatly. A typical 1224 street/track engine will get you roughly 165hp and 100ft lbs torque on a typical dynojet 250.

I like this build show & tell explanation.
Beautiful beautiful Mr Compton
I will be in touch to add these parts to mine. I'm still looking for a clutch basket for my 2005. 😭
Cant hardly wait to build mine after retirement
Beautiful build and an amazing job describing what has been done to it.
Love your work mate! Stunning work!
Of course James Compton knows how to build a bike. I only wish it had more of a true 80’s vibe.
beautiful bike, great build as they always are.
Great looking bike !!!! Couldn't decide what wheels to get for my Z1000, but on seeing those Dymags, mind made up !!!
Very nice work and great upgrades.
Also…. I have a green 2005 ZRX1200R with about 9500 miles on it. Pretty much stock. I enjoy riding it! Glad I found your channel. Right safe.
kickass work as always. Can you please do a series of videos that follow along your next ZRX build?
We have one in the works now!

The Compton tail makes ALL the difference in how the bike looks
If I ever come into some money I'd definitely have y'all tweak my ZRX1200R and make her even meaner than she already is.
Gosh dang!
On dymags. Holy cow! Haha
Just learned about your bikes reading RW mag. I picked up at COTA booth. Really looks like you buid some sweet bikes. Bet they run great.
We have some fun with them!! 😁
The braced swingarm they use is so badass. Not sure if it a Yamaha or Suzuki swingarm, but I've seen that style before.
I think it's original, just de-tabbed and powder coated.
Great build bud
Looks awesome!!!🏍️🔥🚀

@@JamesComptonCustoms cheers james
those open calyxes don't suck dirt into your carburettors?
Nope we run all our bike open. But we also don’t ride in rainy or sandy areas. Never had a problem 👍🏽
@@JamesComptonCustoms oke, thanks for coment👍
Bonjour je voulais vous demander si je pouvais commander la partie arrière, j'ai une ZRX 1100 année 2000 si vous pouviez me répondre merci
How much are those dymag Wheels you prefer them over carbon fiber

what handlebar is on that one?
Are you still in business? Tried calling several times.
@@HensonRacingEngines yes sorry had an emergency surgery. Just now getting back on line 👍🏽
The gap left after removing the airbox and exposing the velocity stacks is not attractive, imo.
Nice build! whole lotta blah blah blah and not one throttle blip? Is this a bike video or a talk show?

how to destroy a zrx
So true. I'm keeping mine stock.
@@LTLT900 LOL these bikes have been made into drag bikes for years!
You guys are boring and probably fuck with condoms on!
20k?? Dang
That’s a lot to put into an old bike.
Someone must love that thing.
The bike itself makes it worth it.
