The year this harvester was released, NH was showing it at the Ohio Farm Science Review. My dad and I were standing in the corn field when it pulled in to start its demo. It was equipped with the 6 row head and pulling an all steel Badger forage wagon. They lined up on the corn rows and started in, and only made it about 60 feet before the rear wall of the wagon blew completely off onto the ground.
I only remember seeing the older New Holland self-propelled choppers in our area even though we are less than an hour from New Holland PA. I still enjoyed watching older equipment putting in a days work
Yes, those choppers were a big machine back in the day. Very popular machine in the Chino Valley (Ca), a 4 row machine was the big boy out in the field. Looking at the new choppers speed and capacity, makes these machines look like they’re crawling. They’re still cool looking, something about them.
We used a JD 3800 chopper with a 2 row 36” corn head-The last several years we used a dump trailer that was pulled behind the chopper and dumped into 2 ton trucks and hauled back to the barn and silos-We had a conveyor that we dumped the trucks into and that brought the silage up to the blower and into the silos-Using the dump trailer and trucks was so much easier than using worn out 6 ton wagons-
We have 3 choppers, bought a 6850 John Deere when we sold this one, few years ago we bought a 7750 John Deere. Still have a 2100 just like this in the back of the shed with serial number only 40 apart from this one your showing here, It’s field rdy and will fire right up if we ever need it
Wish i could watch eunning in action! Thid weekend 06.10.2024 is youngtimer corn silage harvest show in Dalen, the Netherland. There will be a JD 5200, 2wd surviver. Im so excited to hear it runnig. Some clips existing already on RUclips from actions paßt 14 days MB-trac treffen Northorn germany, if you're interested too.
That's a really cool find! Haven't seen any of those out working in a long time. They seem to be popular down in Mexico, as that's where a lot of the SP choppers from that era turn up on Tractorhouse. Thanks for the post! 👍👍
It's pretty hard to believe that when these came out, New Holland offered forage harvesters in sizes all the way from the 707 to the 2100 self-propelled.
Seems kinda slow for 325hp. But hard to remember that far back. I worked for a group of brothers that between all of them had 4 or 5 5830 jd’s using bobtail trucks instead of wagons. Eventually ran a 6850, then 7700, then 7750 and haven’t chopped since.
That thing is slow moving. We are running a 1900 with the 360N6 head going 1mph in 11ft tall corn. But I'll say one, I hated the 919 head until it found it's way into a tree.
I was surprised by the speed as it was a monster in its day. This is 250 bu corn and that was not a common yield in 1980. I guess the yield is a slowing factor.

The hard work you put into your garden really shows
Really cool piece. Always liked looking at it un old NH literature.
No matter how old these forage harvesters are they sure make quick work of corn. Great video.
The 2100 was a monster in its day. Still very cool.

That’s our old chopper sold it 9 years ago now. Nice to see it still chopping, was a good machine. Made my day seeing this, thanks from Wisconsin
Very cool to hear. What are you chopping with now? The 2100 is one of my all-time favorite farm machines and I was excited to get to feature this one.

@@peterblasel4677 do you have a processor on the 2100?
@@andrewcrews-s4q no we don’t was main reason we upgraded was just easier then trying to get one for the 2100s
I used the engine from a 2100 to repower my ST-270 steiger to a ST-325.
Nice re-purpose. It is the same engine used in the Panther III.
I like the Meyer boxes too still a very nice chopper with pretty good capacity for its time.
Meyer is an industry leader in forage wagon production. Good hauling capacity.
This video have many information. Thanks for sharing, my friend
This was cool! That was a lot of HP back then.
It was. The same engine was used in a Steiger Panther III.
Hey Jason great vidéo and equipement love this old school equipement new holland and meyer
We usually cut silage with a JD 5200 self propelled chopper with a 3 row head. And its an open station.

This is one of my favorite farm machines of all time. They are hard to find these days.
Excellent video 👍👍👍
Nice setup...
Sweet chopper for sure
It was a monster in its day.
@@bigtractorpower I bet still a cool chopper to have today
There was alot of them in ireland in the 80s including the the very popular new holland 1900 model. Excellent video
Great video Jason. Long live the whopper chopper.
It’s so cool you have two. This is one of my all time favorite farm machines.
After watching all those RUclips choppers flying across the fields, that New Holland seems mighty slow! But it's still doing the job! Thanks!
It's only a 4 row, row dependent head. 819A4? Maybe?
It only has 325hp. The big ones you are talking about are 600-1000hp. Usually around the 1000hp mark.
Very cool chopper😉👍 thanks for the video👍👍
It is one of my all time favorite farm machines.
Great machine wow
The 2100 is one of my all-time favorite farm machines. It was a monster harvester 40 years ago.
We use a John Deere 5830 with a Claas 4 row head. 2 H&S 7+4 extra Cap wagons.
Very cool chopping set up.
Great video good to see ya
Thank you for watching.

❤😊I DID ENJOY THE VIDEO !!! MY OLD FRIEND HAS BEEN USING A IH 50 PULL TYPE HARVESTOR WITH HIS 400 FARMALL DIESEL ❤😊
Very very cool IH chopping team.
He also has 3 VERY NICE OLD KASTEN UNLOADING BOXES
Hello 👋🎉
Hi. Thank you for watching.
Parabéns eu sou seu fã amo seus vídeos e seu canal sucesso sempre 👍👍👌👌👏👏🚜🚜🇧🇷
Don’t see a lot of them around
They are hard to find today. They are popular 40 years ago.

3:50 "This machine's feeder house is 209 inches wide." Wait, what? Trying to guess what you meant...
We had gehl wagon s
Great forage wagons.
I can work for you
Those are so much cooler than any modern blobs.
I agree they seem more individualized back then. It was big time farming 40 years ago.
