I like all the old red iron still earning their keep! The replacement of the head is a smart move as you can not tolerate downtime during harvest - I have nursed old equipment and it would have been smarter to update as you did. Keep up the good work!
thanks for commenting breakdowns are very frustrating especially with time sensitive harvest like silage luckily we had the old 2 row head to keep us moving but the 3 row is nice to have back keeps the loads coming a little quicker
Take your portable grinder and grind some sharp notches into the rotary cutters and that will practically convert your corn head into a rotary cutter. We have the same corn head as you and we also did it into our 824 corn head about 25 years ago. My son does the corn chopping now and in odd shaped fields he simply cuts across the headland to square them up with almost no corn loss.
we've talked about them and chopping season comes and goes and we forget till next season there's a couple different brands that I've seen either 1 would work. we do chop some corn and hay on some hills and the quick hitches could be a disaster on those fields just things to consider thanks for commenting
neat thanks for the comment lot's of history out in them fields that field has consistently yielded very good corn silage year after year probably a little thanks is due to the regular dose of manure it gets
Triplettes and a set of twins! Awesome! Jenny show us some of the babies when you get a chance.
