The love songs that were written for them and their version of Unchained Melody which became hits were the best of the best but it was their performances with a live band, singers and dancers that captured us all. I read their first song, Latin Lupe Lu was too "black" for the white radio stations and when the black DJs found out they were white, they didn't know what to do. Some nicknamed their early music, blue-eyed soul. They finally were played on black stations and then white stations. They opened a door to mix it up.

Bobby Hatfield was an amazing singer, a total musician,and the total package. He had perfect pitch perfect control all heart and all soul.
