There’d be no American Idol without Kelly Clarkson. The real deal. She is way underrated but she’s got an outstanding instrument that is unmatched in the industry today.
Simon, Paula & Randy went on Larry King live & said that if it hasn't been for Kelly, particularly on the inaugura season,l then the show would have failed. They attribute the success of the show to Kelly.
Kelly Clarkson is like no other singer out there; her voice has gotten better through the years. Her versatility is unmatched. More importantly, she is genuine; what you see is what you get. She doesn't need dancers or a light show, her voice is enough. She doesn't have to put on a performance, i.e., Taylor or Carrie, she just opens her mouth, and that magical voice does the job. She's one of the few artists who sound better in person.
Kelly has one of those voice that is so versatile. This girl can sing across most genres. Would love to see her and Morissette do a duet. Two powerhouses belting out a song would be amazing.
The thing i love about kelly when she sings other peoples songs its because she absolutely loves them and she respects them. She sings what she sings because she has fun and she respects the artists

I actually didn't watch the first season of Idol, but I heard about her during or after that season was over. I absolutely think she is a true American Idol! She has an amazing powerhouse voice who I immediately recognize when I hear a new song by her on the radio. I don't listen to modern music on the radio anymore because much of it sounds the same. My opinion, though. I agree with you that she hasn't changed at all over the years since she won. Love her!!
You should go watch her American Idol performances, including her audition. It shows her personality. A couple of standouts for me are “Natural Woman”, and the Big Band show “Stuff Like that There”
She IS the QUEEN! Her vocals are unmatched!
You should react to her singing “The Dance” at the Kennedy Center honours for Garth Brooks and you could also react to the 2019 Billboard Awards

You missed the very beginning when she tried to lower the audiences expectations of her performance. She said "I hope ya'll aren't too disappointed cause I don't dance and I don't fly." A' tip of the hat' to Pink there! And, true to that she didn't hardly move from that one spot, but there was a circus going on all around her! Great show!
