Scotland punched above their weight. Deserved to win or at the very least finish within a converted try. Few concerns, the ref basically judged the scrum out of the game. from memory there was basically one scrum that was engaged the whole game. Pathetic when the abs are stronger and more dominant in that department. The tackle ball as per usual by NH refs are not reffed correctly.. Scotland like most NH sides don't roll away from the attacker..thus ensuring they clog up and cause delay. Players reaching from sides are free to do what they want, and Scottish players continued to get away with that. How many times during an abs maul were the Scottish players offside and illegally getting away with it. Scottish players off their feet given penalties when clearly they were not supporting their own weight. A combination of all this lack of proper officiating to the rules enables a team like Scotland and others to get away with murder. The ref was average. Seemed like he bowed to the crowd and home ground powers to be than the irb rules set in stone. Typical NH interpretations by refs are ruining the game.
As a kiwi, rubbish champ, what makes you think our interpretations are correct, there was one scrum penalty against us when the Scottish loosehead went straight to ground, but it was for early engagement. Did the ref effect the result? No. Good game
@@joedennehy386 your basic summary is that basic. Lacking anything of substantial truth. Penalty given to Scotland was on the opposite side to the ref who couldn't see anything so took a punt..and even you would admit if you had half a brain that it was a complete guess . Seemed like pretty much all that ref was doing.
I think it’s more that everyone else is so much better so that the ABs don’t have clear dominance like before. Fitness, skill, better coaching - admittedly some of that is Southern Hemisphere talent (players and coaches) spreading around the rugby world for years now, but it’s time for old farts like me to not expect the near perfection we’re used to from the ABs 🤔

As an italian, impressive play from my scottish brothers. As always well played but NZ fight till the last second. Wonderful game anyway and a pleasure see this high level game between 2 world class teams.
It’s annoying seeing my boys doing all the hard work and lacking the finish. New Zealand will always play until the very last second, so you better be 100% for 80. I felt that if we didn’t get the win today with this team, perhaps we never will.
Even as someone who supports the All Blacks you can see that Scotland will win sometime in the next 10 years. These games are soo close and it would be extremely unlikely for them to dramatically fall in capability when it comes to rugby union.
They will undoubtedly will beat the Abs, but that was certainly a good chance. But they couldn't play for 80. There used to be a saying in New Zealand, alas no longer true, that the Abs never lost, but they sometimes ran out of time. 80 minutes of rugby
The commentator said this when Scotland were ahead by 9 with 20 minutes left “I don’t know how much you need to be ahead by to beat NZ …. But i know it needs to be more than 9” immediately after he says that the all blacks erase that 9 point lead and won.
Rugby is so good accross the board nowadays, all teams playing so well. The women's world cup showcased this also. Hard luck Scotland, today was possibly the best chance to take one from the All Blacks.
Ref definitely had some quirks. Scottish players lying around on the NZ side of the breakdown unpunished. Yellow card for Scotland was harsh. Hogg was never going to score for the penalty try.

Why was Scotland penalized Twice when on The All Blacks line, when The all backs committed the same offence on Scotland's Line and got away with it?????
At 11.13 ref gets in Papailii’s way who cannot make the tackle on inside runner. This changed the momentum of the game towards Scotland. Great composure shown by the ABs to get the W.

Disagree with penalty magnets as they are one of the only teams in the top tier that don't rely on penalties like SA and Ireland to win games, Scotland played really well today, such creativity but it was coming once the AB's turned a few gears
Not unlucky, bad scottish leadership. They played the All Blacks tonight not the 6N. Too many wasted opportunities for a lineout but went for penalty kicks instead. Can't beat the All Blacks with 3 pointers, everyone knows that. Bad decision making cost them.

I’m with you mate.. that’s the harshest yellow I’ve seen in awhile… he was going for the tackle and a misplaced pass hit his arm… NZ getting helped again by the officials. Same with Scotlands 2nd try… Lucky they got to score it, but that turn over on the half way line, every single Kiwi was offside or entering from the side of the ruck, and the ref let them play on.. lucky the interception came and is what is called justice
Didn't watch the game because I genuinely forgot it was on after all the rugby yesterday. Watching the highlights my immediate reaction was that it looked like a really harsh yellow, but I'd need to see other angles to be sure
I don’t think he meant to knock that ball on at all and it just went forward in the act of tackling. But it’s more or less a zero tolerance for that now especially when close to the try line. Kind of like the high tackles where many of them are not deliberate.
New Zealand not the super power they once were. They were very average. The backline don't function all game and the pack look tired. Play like this against the English and they could get a shock. From reading the comments the Scottish are delighted with the game.... I don't get that, happy to just take part I suppose and good for them.
New Zealand will make up to 11 changes v england, and we won't be shocked if we lose. We are not nearly as good as we think we can be. England don't have a backline at all, but have a magnificent forward pack. If they can win the collisions and dominate us, we can't play.. it will be a great test. Can't wait.

It just wasn't, they stopped playing after 60 and let in 17 points, enough to win by 2 scores. Your attitude helps them accept mediocre, brave losers, excuses. They should have won but stopped playing after 60. Rugby goes for 80
A thoroughly deserved penalty try, but the ball broke sharply left, when he was running at 7 metres per second, ironically he would not have got to it, and it wouldn't have been a try probably. But in the final wash up, Scotland lost by 2 scores, at least one a try, and that wasn't going to happen. They need to play the 80

Question: Who is going to replace the Springboks 10 Pollard if he gets injured :) ?
@@wayneshilcock3027 Worse than that mate!! They make you guys look half decent hahahahahaha.
Hopefully Pollock can either regain his 2019 form or he gets left out of the side. Last year he was so bad that we relied on Elton Jantjies to come on and close out the game against you lot! Polly had a poor first game against Wales, a better second game and then went straight back off the boil again. My money would be on Manie Libbok but only if they let him play to his strengths. If they don't, then he is going to have the same issues that Elton had. The most frustrating thing about being a Bok fan is seeing the amount of talent we have on offer, but not being able to use it because the players don't fit the Bok mould. Although, despite the losses to Ireland and France, I am liking the subtle tweaks in the way we play - notice how little we kicked the up and under at the weekend?

scotland yet to wait another year for their first historic win
Probably the worst All blacks in history, shame Scotland couldn't have made it, prob never get another chance this easy
No. We've had worse.
There wouldn´t be much glory in beating a mediocre ABs, would there? I tend to believe other teams are improving and forcing the best teams to expose their weaknesses. That is what Scotland did very well this time!
Can’t tell if Scotland played good or if the AB’s just played bad, we need tuivasa sheck to get more game time
NZ were not good
@@jimmunro4649 but they won which is what matters. Just give respect when it's due. people complain when they lose. And when they win still stiff up the ass. Can't satisfy just switch the screen off and watch golf

@@jimmunro4649 Nz were OK for a 2nd string side, there will be ten changes this week, they won
@@joedennehy386 agree with all your points except sheck not being up to it, I believe that’s down to the current system and management. Even players such as Andy Elis thrived under Henry’s regime. He has what it takes don’t think he’s being used even in the slightest bit effectively like half of the players at the moment
Poor Scotland as per usual
You were so close, Scotland...but it was a good game anyway.
Well done AB's too.
From France.
Scotland have an unparalleled ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
They should have had another 2 tries. and Scotland were 1 second away to having a full team again before the last try was scored.
@Richard L don't be silly, that was live, at the ground. Nz scored 17 points in the last 20. Rugby is an 80 minute game mate
Rugby is so good accross the board nowadays, all teams playing so well. The women's world cup showcased this also. Hard luck Scotland, today was possibly the best chance to take one from the All Blacks.
Agree
Womens World Cup was average at best.
With some of the results so far with the Autumn series RWC 23 gonna be Awesome
Still loose around the ruck. England are more than likely to outmuscle the once mighty ABs if they don't tighten up that area.
Another game spoilt by over technical refereeing. . . . . . That should not have been a sin binning. Silly rules spoiling rugby
yeah far to much whistle - too much stoppage for a drinks break
Pedantic refereeing at the scrum
Let the breakdown become a farce
Ref definitely had some quirks. Scottish players lying around on the NZ side of the breakdown unpunished. Yellow card for Scotland was harsh. Hogg was never going to score for the penalty try.
What a game! Watching every other team play better running rugby than us is painful. Bok supporter
At least this weekend the boks were able to walk to a line out without a front rower going down for an injury.😂
Running rugby has never been your go really. Forward power rules, force errors, kick the goals, has been the plan for ever
@@joedennehy386 forward are always our strength but there has been timelines when we played fantastic running Rugby it just the past 4 years where we’ve heavily employed the kick especially from the base with the scrum half.
Beaudean just ain’t it at 10 anymore, definitely kills Havilis game too. Hope Mounga can stay fit all of next year.
Was Mounga injured?
Havili just sucks!! I think tuivasa better then him at 12… AB’s still need a 12!! Havili is just a safe 12 he can’t spark anything… hoping the captain never comes bk!! Too many injuries he should retire
Havili kills his own game. Totally useless at 12 no matter who plays 10.
@@Fake-iw1qb agreed he is not international level imo
@@Fake-iw1qb Tuivasa is very average too. I think going forward our center combo needs to be Jordie Barret 12 and Rieko Ioane at 13. Have Richie Mo'unga at 10 and then when he's back slot Will Jordan in at 15 keep Mark telia at 14 and have either Clarke or Reece at 11 for me that's the best backline we can have
Second try for Scotland identical to the try by France when havili threw the intercept as well lol
Accordingly Havili is no longer the first choice 2nd five.
Havili and ALB combo just not good enough.
Similar to Cheslin Kolbe try in Wellington but it was ALB who tried to force the pass that time.
Man, they were THAT close to two more tries.
Scoreline is harsh as Scotland more than put it up to New Zealand. Might have even been a different outcome if those tries were scored.

Mate South Africa since neutral referees came in, in 1981 have had just a 28% winning ratio v the All Blacks. Its not a solution jimmy
Why was Scotland penalized Twice when on The All Blacks line, when The all backs committed the same offence on Scotland's Line and got away with it?????
Some silly error from nz but good win and effort to scoctland
At 11.13 ref gets in Papailii’s way who cannot make the tackle on inside runner.
This changed the momentum of the game towards Scotland. Great composure shown by the ABs to get the W.
Better way to say it is Hogg noticed the ref was there and used him. Good play
Unlucky Scotland, Russell owned Barrett today. Gotta take them chances.
Something when New Zealand can't score a single point for just under an hour!!!!
ABs are penalty magnets
No unlucky Scots, AB deserved the win.
@@tonyroy8123 had 4 tries pulled back by the ref, a relatively 50-50 yellow card on our tryline. Score line definitely flattered the all blacks- they were scoreless for 60 minutes of the game.
A win is a win. ABs can't always be favorites. Especially with the way they hold themselves for 80 minutes. Silly penalties. Lacking structure. Wouldn't mind seeing dmac in the 23 jumper to change the dynamic of the game if there's no mounga.
The Black Ferns would have beaten the Haggis Munchers... Its an 80 minute game
Good game, it’s usually the last 20 min that separates the teams.

From a fellow comms professional- Thank you for sorting the into/outro music!
Stuart hogg ran his winger out of space by running laterally. Bad luck Scotland 80 minutes of rugby. Its like you are content to be honest battlers, and put up a good fight. The deliberate knock on was tough, but perenara had the ball slapped away, which would have been carded as well.

I’m with you mate.. that’s the harshest yellow I’ve seen in awhile… he was going for the tackle and a misplaced pass hit his arm… NZ getting helped again by the officials.
Same with Scotlands 2nd try…
Lucky they got to score it, but that turn over on the half way line, every single Kiwi was offside or entering from the side of the ruck, and the ref let them play on.. lucky the interception came and is what is called justice
Didn't watch the game because I genuinely forgot it was on after all the rugby yesterday. Watching the highlights my immediate reaction was that it looked like a really harsh yellow, but I'd need to see other angles to be sure
@@eatmyshamrock Probably the reason it got a yellow was because it was potentially try saving.
I don’t think he meant to knock that ball on at all and it just went forward in the act of tackling. But it’s more or less a zero tolerance for that now especially when close to the try line. Kind of like the high tackles where many of them are not deliberate.
Flying Fijians lost last week to Scotland 28 - 12.
ABs got off Scott Free there was no deliberate knock on😂
NZ dropped ball last try. Bad officiating
Bon match des écossais. Ils méritaient de gagner ce match
No they didn't, they didn't play for 80

New Zealand not the super power they once were. They were very average. The backline don't function all game and the pack look tired. Play like this against the English and they could get a shock.
From reading the comments the Scottish are delighted with the game.... I don't get that, happy to just take part I suppose and good for them.
New Zealand will make up to 11 changes v england, and we won't be shocked if we lose. We are not nearly as good as we think we can be. England don't have a backline at all, but have a magnificent forward pack. If they can win the collisions and dominate us, we can't play.. it will be a great test. Can't wait.
Blah blah blah.. as much as if I were to say, "because ABS are touring & unable to play top side, Scotland would get whitewashed in 3 test series ", but I won't...surmise anyhow you like if it comforts your disappointment, the 100 year wait only got longer. maybe Braveheart will make a surprise appearance when he comes to capture

A great game... an expected win by All Blacks... but Scotlands performance was superb 👏
It just wasn't, they stopped playing after 60 and let in 17 points, enough to win by 2 scores. Your attitude helps them accept mediocre, brave losers, excuses. They should have won but stopped playing after 60. Rugby goes for 80
That Stuart Hogg try would have been a try of the year candidate if Lienert-Brown didn't take him out
It wasn't that good. There have been dozens of better tries this week alone.
They need to play the 80
Classic from Scotland . . . .
Great Game!
