I’ve heard it over and over and still have this drive that makes me want to work hard every day. It’s hard for me to slow down and really give my body a rest, and I am fatigued. On a practical level, what can I tell myself and how can I convince myself that it's safe to take a rest day and I won’t lose progress? As you progress through the workout and get to the 3rd and 4th exercises do you need as many warm-up sets? (1:15:57)
Gotta say I’ve been practicing what yall preach since June. Eating lots of protein and lifting progressively. I’ve stayed around the same weight but dropped from 28% body fat to 24% and gained muscle mass. I started at 185 and I’m at 181 ish but I look so much skinnier that it almost looks like I lost 15 pounds. Incredible thank you guys !
Best tip I got was rather than doing 200 push ups st once, and fail, do 10 sets of 20 push ups throughout the day and I can do 200 plus push ups in a day! Seeing results too time to step it up
I really don't care about timestamps because i thoroughly enjoy everything and every topic you guys bring to us. I listen repeatedly at work, home, and before i go to sleep. I am very grateful for absolutely all the subjects you bring up. Not to mention when you all crack me up! Love it, and thank you! 😊
With all the amazing information you all have given us, the least I could do is watch the whole video and not worry about timestamps. Thank you all so much, for all you have done for us!
Sal, I just watched you on Bradley Martin’s podcast. Great show. Thanks for all you do. Please bring back timestamps in these podcasts. I’m a long time listener and I REALLY MISS THEM! Especially on the long ones like this.
Eat your breakfast folks. Whether it is after a workout or before, it's your fuel for the day. Eggs and meat is probably one of the best things in the morning.
Im so glad u touched on this trend. Im a post menopausal woman and it takes all i have to fit my adequate protein in 3 meals. it has made no sense to me to cut a meal out. i feel validated by tgis info as it seems i felt it all along!! i always ate breakfast to get my protein in.
Why do you assume someone is specifically yelling a sal, Adam or justin? I think these are directed those that were responsible for making the decision to change.
Thanks to you guys I’ve been eating a high protein breakfast almost everyday. I’ve noticed that when I eat breakfast I meet my protein goals and I sleep SO WELL. Thank you for sharing this information!
I was intermittent fasting before working out in the morning, I wasn’t hungry and I didn’t want to feel full and felt very energetic without eating . BUT ☝🏻 it was a game changer when I started eating breakfast 🍳before working out and it’s been great, I feel stronger and I’m able to lift heavier, I just had to adjust at the beginning and was able to loose fat and increase muscle because I’m finally able to hit my protein target most of the days! So I guess just like you guys said it’s nice to try and see what works better for your body!
My girlfriend just left me because she eats ultra processed foods every single day, complains about being fat, complains that her pysch meds aren’t working, complains about being tired, never wants to fuck….she left because I was pushing her to just eat real food. Her daughter is 4 and can’t sit still for 60 seconds because she drinks a half gallon of chocolate milk per day and eats fruit snacks in between every single processed food meal and goes to sleep with a sippy cup full of chocolate milk. Thankyou Shannon you just made my life so much easier
Facts! Is way easier to hit daily protein targets with breakfast. Personally, I eat 8 eggs with fresh veggies and small beef chunks with a side of café latte with collagen powder and MCT oil latte and sometimes greek yogurt.
I listen to the whole show while I work (run my own house cleaning business) so no timestamps necessary for me! 😂 would love to win one of the workouts to be able to try someday 😊
Me too! I also own a house cleaning business. I listened for about a year before I finally bought some of their programs. It was a game changer. Wait for a sale and get one. You'll be glad you did
Fed or Fasted? I think for me having a snack to small meal, at the very least a protien shake before a workout is best. I want to have energy, but I don't want to feel weighed down by a heavy meal. Today I had oatmeal with a banana with added protein powder before working out with a pretty standard protein shake during the workout.
When I'm cutting, I push my first meal of the day until after noon. It works for me because I am busy and active in the mornings and don't mind it at all. When I get home at the end of the day, however, that down-time would kill my diet if I didn't have enough calories left for the day. I track every bit I eat, and get my minimum protein every single day.
I stopped eating breakfast this past summer. Only lunch and dinner, no snacks. The days of snacking are over, unfortunately. BUT, due to the increase in protein between two meals, I'm good. Thoughts aren't revolved around food so much. I carb load on Saturdays (my heaviest fitness day).... my sweet spot is 60+grams of protein per meal. I'm not standing in the fridge an hour later.
Tip: 1. Pretend like you are intermittent fasting (skip breakfast and midmorning until lunch). 2. Now eat 1/5 of your daily protein in the morning shortly after waking (breakfast) and midmorning. In other words, skip (push) your carbs, and maybe your fats til noon (though on the fats I like to eat 2 eggs along with my egg whites at breakfast). I have found if you will simply hold back most of the carbs (I do eat spinach with my egg whites though, but spinach is LOW calorie). until later in the day for me it seems to be the carbs that give me the lethargic feeling. Plus, you can still have a larger "last meal" of the day like you do with fasting, and budget in a carb dessert of your liking (though I have started tracking vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids so I tend to eat dried apricots, bananas and things like that for after last meal carb desserts.)
I disagree with eating greens. Most plants are trying to kill us and covered in pesticides. I stopped eating plants a little over a year ago and my skin and digestion is amazing now.
I need your help guys💙💙💙I have been following you guys for only a short time but I am learning so much. This was the funniest episode😂I found myself laughing out loud. Love all three of you. Thanks for the knowledge and laughter😂💙🤣
1) From what I heard, Elon's interview was not hit by DDos attacks.Twitter was just not capable of doing the job. 2) The EU request to Musk was to follow EU law regarding hate speech, afaik.
Dude fired a bunch of programmers first chance he got to save money... .. yeah elon and trump have definitely promoted hate speech or pardoned it, idk if Harris has. Just to compare the two camps
A quick Google check by Sal would have confirmed this. Funnily enough the EU actually warned Elon about his responsibility to ensure disinformation isn't shared during the Trump speech due to the impact it had on the UK riots. Sal has pretty much just done the exact same thing by not fact checking what he's heard
I love you guys! FYI: I lived in South Korea for three glorious years! I have never felt so healthy, strong, peaceful, and vibrant in my entire life! East Asians eat some sort of protein, carbohydrate (e.g. rice and/or noodles), lots of vegetables, fermented kimchi, and beans that they bury in the ground for 22 years! NO GMO's! NO Monsanto! And in the winter, they still grow their sacred vegetables and fruits in greenhouses. When I moved back to the USA, I literally became SICK as a dog, eating the CRAP that the FDA and NIH "permit". I am a retired holistic physician who treated tons of diabetic patients. My first surgery while in my osteopathic medical school was an amputation of an out of control diabetic. Managed care kicked in when I graduated, and I had to ward off the evil insurance companies and pathetic "health care system" that Hillary and Bill Clinton destroyed our health care system. To this day, I do NOT partake in the USA medical care nonsense. I go to acupuncturists, naturopaths, and possess a certification in herbal remedies. I know how to fix and balance myself. I will never visit a generic USA doctor ever again. No need! My osteopathic medical school empowered me to this mantra: "Physician heal thyself". And my osteopathic medical school was the FIRST medical institution to REQUIRE studies in nutrition. "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." -Hippocrates. I took the "Hippocratic Oath" and constantly upheld this amazing truth. FYI: I also am a HUGE fan of homeopathic medicine. No side effects what so ever, and it works! I took six years of German, visited Germany, and lived in about 25 other countries outside of North America. Clean, healthy, happy, and peaceful people in every country where I lived. Honestly, I do not like the USA. It has been evil for way too many years. Stalin nailed it: "America is great IF America is good." He was spot on! Our country is being run by people who have no clue what to do. Big pharma thrives on vaccines.....Covid....totally bogus. I NEVER had antibodies to Covid, and vaccines will ruin a person's life. I was "forced" into taking the hepatitis vaccine, flu, and a parvovirus vaccine (as I was bitten by a rabid dog). I have never been the same. Mentally tough, I worked my way back to health that took me 20 years to overcome. Sat nam!
I am a New Wellness Coach in the space who recently took one of the NCI courses you guys recommended in one of your videos . I continue to learn a lot from listening to you guys and I would appreciate if you can pick me on this episode to try one of your give aways 👊😃
I’m about to watch the video as I eat these eggs baked with cottage cheese some turkey sausage links and oatmeal we shall see because I’m working out in about an hour and a half
Is working out fasted good? I normally workout early morning before breakfast due to work commitments is this good or am I missing out on extra muscle growth?
Thats crazy i just thinking about this subject this morning and hear you are talk about law of attraction I wake up at 4 and wait to eat breakfast until 9:00 try to keep it at 800 mostly protein calories but still question. Always glad to hear your advice.
Question: for hormonal balance IF has been highly recommended for menopausal women by experts … what are your thoughts on this? Btw is best to eat your veggies then protein then starchy foods so insulin doesn’t spike as much and as fast
Chlorophyl?! more like Boreophyl!. "Billy Madison" sorry I always try to say this in my everyday life. and this opportunity presented itself. Thank you guys for all that you do for us viewers, its honestly greatly appreciated.
I’m not hungry in the morning, even after a workout, but there is ZERO chance I’ll hit my protein goals if I don’t eat. So I have a protein shake on my drive to work and then an hour later I eat a Greek yogurt. That gets me 35 g of protein to start my day
I am new sub, and was looking for more info on food and such, want to start working out again next week, 180cm 85kg. And 3 coffees a day... Yuck let's go
Hey guys, love your show, but what about fasting for Autophagy. Read an entire book aptly named 'autophagy' about the benefits especially since I'm turning 50 next year... Thanks
I don't want to eat breakfast, never have really. I have added whey protein and collagen to my coffee. I have been omad and ketovore 1200 calories/day in the past and lost 100 lbs....gained back 20 lbs and just can not seem to get back to losing. I have hired a trainer and have had 48 sessions in the gym strength training but started slower as I was so deconditioned. Trying to mix it up and get the scale moving down, muscles moving out and strength multiplying. It is SLOW going. I can not meet my protein goal if I don't add another meal so I'm going to add in some greek yogurt in the evening. We'll see how it goes.......
Lunch is most important for me. If I don't get a mid day meal between noon and 2ish, I feel awful and I'm a total dick the rest of the day. Aside from lunch, I can drink the rest of my nutrition throughout the day. Fruit/veggie smoothies, protein shakes, chocolate milk, etc.
I fast for 16-20hours. I dont need break fast. I drink 1,5 gallon water/green tea. Workout first in the morning. I eat only twice a day. Cause i like to eat big meals. Dry beans, meat fish 150g precooked are 30grams protein. 4eggs are about 25grams. If you cant eat huge meals than maybe 4 meals are better. If i eat to much carbs at once i get sleepy. Renegade Diet/ Intermitted Fasting.
I wanted to know if you guys will do an episode on the podcast working with a client that has large apron belly. This is for my partner who I care for dearly. I have no good idea or resources to help what type of exercises will help her build strength. For example she tries to do a deadlift but her stomach is in the away of the bar path; in addition, she tries to squat but her stomach is in the way of her going 90 degrees( range of motion). Any direction, advise, or episode will help, thank you.
Get walking, cut out the excess carbs n sugar to reduce the issue then go from there. It's very doable and will be a much better beginning strategy. Lots of overweight people start with the basics and add to there program as they lose weight and build confidence.
Curry was the MVP not James. Yes his longevity is incredible and he is very good. I still think the 92 and 96 Dream Teams would have beat today's USA basketball team pretty easily.
I know for a fact I need to ingest 195 grams of protein each day (my goal weight). So how can I make sure I don't go over that amount? SPOILER ALERT: I despise calorie counting already. Now you need me to watch my protein intake, too?!?
Women can be way more sensitive than men when it comes to working out fasted, especially when in certain places in the monthly cycle or stages of life. Can you please look into sharing the work of Dr Stacy Simms for your listeners with female reproductive systems regarding nutrition timing and macro considerations? Thanks!
Dr. Mindy Pelz has lots of videos and recommendations on this subject. Her book: Fast like a Girl is very interesting and many women comment on having excellent results following her protocol

The story about the homeless dude and his daughter was spooky, make ya think
Eat your breakfast folks. Whether it is after a workout or before, it's your fuel for the day. Eggs and meat is probably one of the best things in the morning.
Hard digestion foods. Better not. Building food should be reserved for the afternoon/early night.

Another new episode, another one without timestamps. Come on guys!!!
Timestamp guy must be on vacation
You cry like a girl.
Yeah i don't have 1.5h of time every day to hear about how important coffee is for breakfast on mindpump 😊
Quit yelling at Sal Adam and Justin when they have nothing to do with the editing and uploading. Come on yourself 🙄
Why do you assume someone is specifically yelling a sal, Adam or justin? I think these are directed those that were responsible for making the decision to change.
2 cans of tuna, 2 whole eggs, 1/2 cup oats.
100grams protein. Easy.
The rest is great but the oats… 😳
@@napua5217 this is the recipe from Markus Ruhl for tuna pattys.
@@Turtle2117x I’d swap the oats for some cheese or leave it out but good for you!

You need a healthy girl. She can get those McDonald's lovers and eat big macs together.

Hilarious episode. Also, the marketing convo was so interesting. I remember all of that. Milk, Raisins, and cigarettes. Breakfast of champions.
Most people start their day with coffee and they should start their day with water

Always struggle to hit my protein if I haven’t had breakfast.
I have a protein shake with my breakfast to start my day with about 70 grams. Hard for me to hit it without it.
5 weeks in on animal based and down 5 pounds and at a normal BMI again. Breakfast is beef and eggs 💪
Please update when you've had a coronary bypass
Time stamps, please.
Sal! Can you talk about how you got rid of your parasites 🦠
26:45 Brussel sprout cookies Adam? WTF were you eating as a kid!?
Low calorie, high protein is my start
You can skip breakfast but you better not skip your protein!
just supplement with a shake…i don’t get the issue with protein intake..
I like to eat after working out but I usually have a protein shake prior
Except pancake batter doesn’t traditionally have sugar in it. Cake batter does.
Timestamps again please… Thank you
What’s up with that crazy actual pause at 11:14:48 😂 mad awkward !
Was a cool episode until you started talking about dumb politics
34:57 stop noticing things, guys, noticing things is not allowed
Damn, already made my breakfast 🍳 ground beef, egg white omelette and small serving of potatoes #Borophyll
I feel better when I don't eat breakfast, im more productive and fucus in my job.
Raisins… the evolution didn’t stop there. Now broken chocolate bars, at the factory, are packaged and sent to Dairy Queen
I miss having the chapter guides on the episodes.
Curry was the MVP not James. Yes his longevity is incredible and he is very good. I still think the 92 and 96 Dream Teams would have beat today's USA basketball team pretty easily.
If eating high protein was big during hunter gatherer times then wasn't fasting as well?
By the way, I am that plant person... I will cry when one of my babies die
Adam’s analogies are getting bonkers
I know for a fact I need to ingest 195 grams of protein each day (my goal weight). So how can I make sure I don't go over that amount?
SPOILER ALERT: I despise calorie counting already. Now you need me to watch my protein intake, too?!?
LeBron can't carry MJ's jock in a suitcase.

I get up at five and then workout, then I eat breakfast

Women can be way more sensitive than men when it comes to working out fasted, especially when in certain places in the monthly cycle or stages of life. Can you please look into sharing the work of Dr Stacy Simms for your listeners with female reproductive systems regarding nutrition timing and macro considerations?
Thanks!
Dr. Mindy Pelz has lots of videos and recommendations on this subject. Her book: Fast like a Girl is very interesting and many women comment on having excellent results following her protocol
I eat Kodiak pancakes, fruit and coffee every morning. I can't eat eggs, because it runs right through me
Did they mention oatmeal?
