Dad and son making Kielbasa, this is what is right with the world, good on you mates, good on you ! Looking to pick up one of these grinders, love their specs and warranty. Thanks for the vid !
I’ve got one on the way this week. 9 months later are you still using it without issue? I appreciate you putting up real use and in a good video format for this machine. I can’t see it being worse than any other import available. People want so much for a clapped out used hobart/Berkel it was a no brainer at sale price.
Thank you for your comment. I have had no issues and I still love it. It is right in there with the competitors, but I would rather support the smaller companies than give to the big ones. Good Luck.
I'm buying this very same grinder next week April 3, 2023. I'm wondering if you are still pleased with it and if you've had any problems or might have any suggestions! Great video, liked and subscribed! 👈🙋
I like it more every time I use it. My brother recently purchased the 1 hp. model and he runs it almost weekly. Suggestions are just to keep the parts as cold as possible for the best results. Also, I use the sausage stuffer instead of using the grinder. It is extra money, but well worth it in the end.
@@the_average_american7396 thank you very much! I'm an old fart these days, and I've been thinking the same thing on the stuffer. I'm buying the stuffer and the mixer in May. I'm too old to mix that cold meat by hand and that 1.5 hp marries up to their mixer. I'm kind of on the fence with the MEAT stuffer though. I watched a video of a guy cranking until his arm came off 🤣 to return the plunger to top position. I might buy another brand stuffer that has the 'High Gear' return or an electric if it's American made 🇺🇸, but I have a month to decide. You've sold me on the grinder tough. 🙋 Thank you very much for the response!
Good luck. My brother also has the mixer and it is nice. I agree on the stuffer. The gear ratios need to be better. However, they do make the sausage turn out better in the end though. I usually have my grandsons do the cranking.
@@the_average_american7396little late to the conversation but reading all I can I can’t decide between the 1.0hp and the 1.5hp it’s over 200 bucks difference and I am just getting started I bought a small grinder made it 2 weeks!!! Time to upgrade but you said your brother has the 1.0 I really like the sausage mixer and being able to couple to the grinder I don’t know if the Meat 1.0 will do that I know the 1.5 will. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated thanks 🙏🏻 have a blessed day
Thanks for the comment. The grinder comes with the tube and adapter. Tubes can also be bought at the major sport stores, or some kitchen supply outlets, if you just want to go that way.
Thanks for watching. I don't have the recipe. It was one that my son had brought home with him from his time in Poland. The recipe varies from region to region, and this was the one he wanted to try. My best advise is to look at recipes form the area you interested. The web is full of them.
Thanks for the video! How do you think this grinder will handle stuffing summer sausage? I'm accustom to a smaller grinder where it wasnt powerful enough to stuff so I bought a manual stuffer.. just wonder what your thoughts on this for stuffing vs a manual stuffer
This thing works great at stuffing everything I have tried. It's not short on power at all. I was considering getting a sausage stuffer but Ir really haven't had a need for one. This thing does real well.
It comes with 3 plates. The large hole (coarse), a small hole plate (fine), and the kidney plate (stuffing). It also comes with some stuffing tubes. It works OK, but I found that sometimes it will not work too good if the meat gets a little warm. I went ahead and bought the small stuffer and they work really good together. Thanks for watching.
Mine just came in today but I'm confused as to what this little metal bar is for, in your video its beside the machine. Would you know what it's for? it doesn't show it in the book.
I believe that you are talking about the small tube. It is used for stuffing snack sticks and it fits inside the feed cone that we are using for the sausage casings. I have never used it. I broke down and ordered the small stuffer and it has been great so I don't need to use the grinder to stuff the casings any more. Thanks for watching.
Hello, I watched both of your grinder videos and I have a few questions for you. I would also like to get your polish sausage recipe. I want to buy this exact grinder but I am in Japan. They won’t ship to me. However, if the box is not too big I can have it went to my parents and have them mail it to me. Do you know the dimensions of the box? I know the total weight is around 72 lbs.
Thanks for the comment. My son had the recipe but it is very similar to this one. Ingredients 4 pounds boneless, well-marbled pork shoulder (sliced into 1-inch-wide strips) 1/2 cup cold water 2 cloves garlic (crushed in press) 4 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon leaf marjoram 14 feet hog casings (rinsed three times and refrigerated)
Is this the only grinder they make? The website says it's no longer available. I figured i probably didn't need the 1.5hp as I only grind under a hundred pounds of meat a year. But no other sizes were shown on the site.
Thanks for the comment. They make 3 different sizes, 500 W, .5 HP, and the 1.5 HP. The smaller version would be perfect for what you are doing. Here is the web page. www.meatyourmaker.com/process/grinders/
@@the_average_american7396 : Hi again. That 500w grinder @ $99.99 looks like my cheap with the plastic gears that croaked. So I'd probably be interested in the .5hp one. I just don't see any confirmation on the site that indicates it has all metal gears. The videos I watched from LEM do say that the Big Bite line is all metal. I also have to consider weight as well. I can't lift heavyweight items very well anymore. So that's another reason to consider the .5 hp. Thanks for the info.
Thank you for your reply. The User Manual for the Grinder, page 5 under Heading "Sausage Stuffing Assembly", states in the 3rd line: "Slide the stuffing plate onto auger. Grinding blade is not used when stuffing." If you contact MEAT! they can send you a copy of the manual digitally.

I'm not sure why you think I have anything to do with your issue. I don't work for MEAT, nor am I an affiliate. I just got the grinder and liked it enough to take the time to show people how it worked. They have been great with me and I will continue to use them. I have purchased 4 for myself and others in my family, and no issues yet.
Thanks for watching, and sorry there is no recipe. However, this is a video of the grinder, not the sausage. There are too many polish sausage recipes out there to even count, but only a handfull of clips on the use of the "Meat" brand grinder. Good cooking to you.
Thanks for watching. Everything in the video comes with the grinder. However, I do recommend getting a sausage stuffer instead of using the grinder. It is a lot easier and I feel the sausage turns out a lot better.
