A very inspiring video, thank you so much! I started loving the US stains so very much! Coming from Europe, I never expected to hear stories about saint who lived on this land. Glory be to God - he is in our midst!
I am from Novato, California and I have heard interesting stories of the Russian Orthodox Church of America. I have visited FORT ROSS a Russian colony twice in 2012 for its 200 year celebration and many Russian people including some Alaskan natives become part of this event, it was great times. Also here in California we have our first Russian Orthodox Christian Martyr of San Francisco and his name is ST. PETER THE ALEUT who was executed by the Spaniards of California in 1815 during the Spanish colonization of California along with the 21 Catholic Missions. When Father Herman heard the tragic event of PETER in California, Herman stood at an Orthodox icon and said, "HOLY NEW MARTYR PETER, PLEASE PRAY TO GOD FOR US!" Our Russian Orthodox Martyr of California from Alaska will never be forgotten. God save PETER THE ALEUT! Amen.
Also some day in the future I am going to make a story called "The V-H-S Club" it's a fictional San Francisco story about three boys with names like Ivan Vostok, Akira Hashimoto and Andrew Scott, they were all born in '69 having great adventures in the city during the 1980s and for my character Ivan Vostok who is Russian-American with his Russian Orthodox Christian faith, he sleep dreams about being near the executed St. Peter the Aleut to help restore me to life but the soul of Peter the Aleut tells Ivan never to worry or cry, I am dead but I will always be with you forever. So it will be kind of sad but very touching between a young Russian-American boy and a young Native Alaskan boy, for one part of my story. Thank you.
Wonderful work. Thank you.
