Its terrifying yet remarkable that military tech from 50 years ago is still impressive and very much so being used and produced.
2-3 generations of engineers and designers that either witnessed 2 world wars or were the generation directly after them. Probably helped them design better war machines. 👍

What is more terrifying yet remarkable is that this thing like the f16 and the b52 are really old designs yet with modern tech (because saying that the f15 is 50 year old technology isn't really correct, it's an old design not old tech) through modernisation they can perform just as good as current gen fighters.

Without top gun, the f14 would only be as popular as say, the phantom. It would still have a cult following, but much much less known

I was the IT guy for some air battle managers for 5 years. I was surprised to learn that they found the F-15EX to be the most capable aircraft at their disposal, even with F-35's in-theater at the time.
thing is the F-15EX is still is production is has not been introduced yet
there are only 4 F15EX in service right now and none of them have ever deployed. So either you are full of shit or confused the F-15E and F-15EX.

True, but how ironic that the replacement for the F-22 is the F-15. It is stunning to think how easily it has adapated through the decades. And the F-16 is nore of the same. If you had told me as a kid that the F-15 could still be going now, I would have laughed. I can't wait to see what the new best is able to do.

His competitors were retired years ago but this Eagle is still ruling skies . Israel and US is operating it and India is also considering this jet over Eurofighter and Rafale at the point that India retired mig 25 about 25 years ago

I acknowledge that the F-22 and F-35 are insanely superior to the F-15 in almost every way that matters, but I just like the F-15 more. The word "fighter" is basically a synonym for "F-15."
Plus the F-15EX's designation kinda looks like F-1SEX and my humor has yet to mature from high school.

The KD ratio cant be 104 because that would imply 1 f15 kill. The KD ratio is infinite.
the f15 was builed in the mid 1970s, because america needed new aircrafts since the f4-phantom E had no guns. but bombs. the soviets built the MiG-25 foxbat and shot down Alot of the f4-phantom. This caused to disappoint america and they needed to bulid a new "Aircraft" every other American manufacturer predict to build a different model but McDonnell Douglas gave america the F15 strike eagle. they built it, flew it, and they said: Perfect! so, they were different types of f15s. f15A,F15B F15C,F15E and F15D were built, after that all were built and this is a 4th generation fighter so the new model f15EX {which came after all the f15 models} flew a little bit and got to shot down a soviet satellite from 35,000 ft with a space missile they added on the f15EX. The F15EX joined the USAF in 2022 and there making more! the f15EX has more advance Technology and speed and other things you know. Now the F15EX is a 4.5 generation fighter.
